Agreed about the cars, apart from the 'kiddy offerings' there are some great cars out there in the second hand market that aren't AFX's offering of yet more American muscle

I think they can handle a 30% increase in voltage without getting too hot. I have one a friend bought me, Aston Martin DB5 and it has been running fine for a couple of years now. I turned down the rims to take away some of the width to where the center knock offs are just proud of the outside rim edge. They are great looking spoke rims with some chrome paint on them, for being stock OEM rims. I did away with the DB5 body. I fitted the AW Xtraction Datsun 240z deluxe pit kit body to the chassis (a little bumper carving, 2 part epoxy screw post, trim down ears on chassis . The rear wheels are a little far back in the rear fender wells, but have clearance. The front wheels fit the the front fenders perfect. It really turned out nice. Thanks for the video.

One thing to keep in mind . Micro cars *can* be wider than AFX etc and indeed some MS cars are larger than others. The Ford Focus rally set cars actually hit mirrors as they pass on the AFX track, MS must be slightly wider. So if you're actually running a race not just time trials, they will actually smack into each other

Micro Scalextric = poor man's Mega G plus. I think if you run the 9v car at 12v a lot you risk damaging the motor. That is what I heard on slot forum but not sure if that is true. Scalextric really have missed out on the HO market since 2019 with their offering of cars for adults and pretty much no decent releases apart from colour changes on Porsche and Lambo cars. Gone are the days of decent livery varied cars.

are they undrivable at 12 volts? I can turn my power supply anywhere (0-30) , but not sure I have ever run anything under 12 lol. ty for the video. I always enjoy your content when I get time to check it out.

@@MoonDogSlotCarRacing I think 10 - 12 volts is the ideal limit. Maybe on the lower side depending on the complexity of the layout.

Can u fit two of them side by side on the track
@murdervalleyraceway2 ай бұрын
@@Matthew-jv1ee lol, funny, I hadn't even tried that till you asked. They touch. The Porsche is wider than the Lambo. The Lambo is 35.8mm wide, and the Porsche is 36.3mm.

Can you still find the older version cars?
@murdervalleyraceway2 ай бұрын
@@dragman726 they're not real common in Australia. The UK is where they're the easiest to get hold of. Unless you can buy bundles, you're probably not getting them in a cost effective manner.
