This works well! But now after purchasing a google workspace account and domain linked to the desired email, I am not able to get emails delivered to my new gmail account. Emails still deliver to the old account even after deleting the "Send Mail As" configurations. Any thoughts?

It seems like it's not possible anymore to configure the app and device for the app password. If I enter the app password page it only asks me for an App-name and gives me a password. If I use that to configure the send as in gmail it gives me an error that the credentials are not right :c

Oh my goodness! It worked. I referred to this video and this one, too: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iJO3Y2uOZdyciNk. I've spent hours spread throughout a couple of days, just looking for tutorials to be able to send emails as my custom domain email through my non-work Gmail account. Thank you so much.

“App password” is not an option on my google account. I’m stuck right there.

I had the same issue, all you have to do it to go to your Google account settings -> Security -> type in the top search bar "app pass" and click on the result, it will take you to a page in which you create an app password. After doing that, you'll see the app password sectuin under the 2-FA section. Good luck!

Now that I've set it up, and the emails are working, when I email from the new email, the recipient gets an ugly "profile pic" where you'd normally have the Google "profile pic" (the image in a circle), is there a way to for my new custom email to use the same "profile pic" as the Google account I'm using to forward?

What an incredible workaround! This is great for me since I do not want to pay for GoDaddy's hosting plan if I can just have it auto forward to my gmail, and can now send from it after using this method! I imagine I also should update the SPF records on my domain to allow Google to be an authorized server?

If your "app passwords" are not shown make sure to turn on 2FA first then type "app passwords" in search bar then it will appear.

Super helpful after searching various Google documentation. Since this video came out, the app password portion at marker 1:02 was not found but I was able to search on that page to find it and continue the process you laid out. It did take a little time for the final propagation to render. I took about 15-30 minute break and came back and it was working. Thank you!

@@funfilm77 I was able to search on that page to find it and continue the process. There were no breadcrumbs/path shown. So just look for the search bar at the top of page and put in 'app password'. That's what worked for me.
