I don’t really understand the purpose of this huge box. Won’t it cause unnecessary drag in the water , besides the extra weight ?

Did exactly what was shown on this video with success. Only thing i did different was using boiling hot water to loosen the old valve. With boiling water you get the right temperature to loosen the glue without damaging the bladder.

Are the studs just touching the bottom of the tracks when you twist them down so they stop and stay in place? I have GoFoil mast which use a cup washer between the screw head and mast plate, it looks like there's enough free stud length to mount the cup washer then use the 15mm cup nut to secure ?
@kiteboardingcom9 күн бұрын
Yes the studs are designed with enough length to touch the bottom of the track base keeping them locked vertically.
@flskimmer8 күн бұрын
If the studs can twist in the t-nut and the cone nut can twist on the studs, how do you know final torquing the cone nut isn't twisting the stud deeper in and cracking the inside of the track? Only one of those two planes is going to slip and it seems like you would only want a half inch worth of threads on the t-nut end.

Geoff , for 7mm you could have a spacer on the 6mm to pack it out to 7mm and a 7mm cone nut with a 6mm thread.
@kiteboardingcom9 күн бұрын
The 6mm works perfectly, the cone nut is the same size as the 8mm other than the screw in the middle so it works no problem with all counter sink mast bases or flat mount.

@@kiteboardingcom perfect , i love these enhanced hardware ideas you are bringing to market . maybe the reel leash V2 can be re released by you ?
@rtz54911 күн бұрын
What about any sort of lube on the threads? Any issues with galling like with stainless. I'm not familiar with using titanium.
@CarkeekW11 күн бұрын
Titanium doesn't gaul which is a big bonus , if just one end is Ti and the other SS it prevents it
@kiteboardingcom9 күн бұрын
No there are a no need. Stainless is a soft metal and can gaul pretty easy if not kept clean. Titanium doesn’t have this issue and won’t get that rust layer staying corrosion free.

Key takeaways: Standard Lengths: Most common line lengths range from 22 to 25 meters. Impact of Length: Longer lines increase power but slow down kite reaction time, while shorter lines offer faster turning and response. Extensions: Adding 3-meter extensions is a popular way to increase power slightly. Extreme Lengths: While some riders experiment with lengths up to 30 meters for maximum power in light wind, going too short (below 20 meters) significantly reduces power and is not recommended for most riders. Manufacturer Recommendations: Following the manufacturer's recommended line length for your kite is generally advised, as they have extensively tested the optimal setup. Line Inspection: Regularly inspecting and cleaning your lines is crucial for safety and longevity.

These boards are sick if you consistently have 20 knots or greater of wind. Anything lighter and these boards are absolutely garbage. It’s so depressing being out there in lighter wind and just not getting up. The balance is tough. I love my prone boards for surfing and pumping. I cannot stand wing boards but they gotta be a bit bigger to get up.
What type of 2 sided tape for the top dacron was used, and thread size and type. Awesome video

Jeff, have you tried adding crushed charcoal, and baking soda, to make a light filler, before you dab on the CA, then just the CA for the sealing top coat. it has worked great for me a few times.

Hey guys. Does this leash manufacturer still exist? Where can it be purchased?
@Topazsailing2012Ай бұрын
If you cut the glass at 45 degrees, it will wrap around the rail better.
@yiucycleАй бұрын
I think if you wet the wood a bit, it will accelerate the CA glue curing process. Also baking soda will instantly cure the CA glue. You will still melt some eps foam from the CA glue vapor. But this seems like a fast way to get back into the water

Love the convenience and material! Hate the bottle opener. Tip: for injury-free operation with cold wet hands, use the cuff from your leash wrapped around the tool. More leverage and protection from the silly bottle opener.

Thanks for the great review. I'm curious how you pack this wing up with the boom on it? In ads I've seen the wing packed separately from the boom, but taking it on and off each session feels like a pain to me. Does it come with a bag to include the boom when packing it up? Thanks!

Dang... You sold me Jeff! Already had my board leash on my calf - but going to get my wing on my waist. Are many people going without a board leash? I haven't tried or figured out how to body drag without the board if thats even possible. Seems like there are some advantages of wiping out and clearing away from the board without it yanking back towards you?

DOES NOT WORK. Produced leaky connection between adapter and Slingshot wing, whereas a Slingshot pump with same shaped adapter pumped up the wing just fine. The difference in internal diameter between this adapter and the Slingshot pump was 0.2mm, a large enough difference so that as you pump up to pressures beyond 2 PSI, a substantial proportion of each pump stroke whistles out the connection.

Hi Jeff, this is great, thank you. I am very happy with waist leash for the wing, but currently also connect the board leash to my waist harness. How is the calf leash for those who switch feet? Does it get in the way at all during foot swaps or if the leash is on your front foot? Or is the calf leash better for folks who don't switch feet? Also, looks like the riders on the GWA are just using a wing leash and no board leash. What are your thoughts on that? Probably not a good idea for most folks... Thank you!
@earthflute2248Ай бұрын
Much prefer a waist leash esp for wing foiling, as it stops getting caught up in the wing leash on the wrist.
@sincerbeaux767Ай бұрын
Just tried my wing leash connected to a harness. Hated it. Leash tangled w everything including the board. I watch a zillion winging vids and it seems pretty 50/50 what riders prefer. BTW, I tried your ball stoppers and they are great.
@kiteboardingcomАй бұрын
Yeah it’s important to get the board leash moved to your calf. Then wing to waist. But whatever works for you. Ride on. Thank you for the feed back

I'm on a waist leash for the wing and ankle for the board. Was thinking of moving the board to the waist as well. I'll give the calf a go and see how that works out.
@kiteboardingcomАй бұрын
Yeah the ankle puts the leash at the feet and makes it where you step on it all the time. The calf keeps it out from u see your feet.
