On the fuse, would you recommend a fast blowing or slow burning one?

Very nice video! I have one question, how do I get to the plug fuse?
@rustypaintАй бұрын
On the plug itself there is a little cover (between the 3 pins). Just use a small pic to pry that off and the fuse is behind. If they’ve changed the plug since mine then there may be a small screw you’ll have to undo to get to it - should be very obvious when you look at the plug itself
@chrisgarnerjonesАй бұрын
@ is there any way you could send me a picture of the cover? I’m trying not to tear my plug up. Haha

Does anyone have a good US source for the replacement hose and regulator? Can you just buy a standard Argon hose and cut off the fitting on the welder end and side the hose onto the welders barb fitting?
@rustypaintАй бұрын
I’m obviously in the U.K., but I just measured the barb fitting out the back and got a length of good quality thick silicone hose. Regulators usually have a barb fitting on too - so you usually just need a hose between the two

@rustypaint13 күн бұрын
It’s suitable as a welding primer - pro XL state this ‘Gives excellent adhesion direct on to bare metal, and has active rust preventing pigments that provide excellent corrosion resistance. It is also suitable as a welding primer and is very quick drying. This product is supplied with 2 nozzles, offering different spray patterns, and can be used wet on wet’

I bought one over a year ago and posted a vid on it because there wasn't much out on it but I just wanted to see if it worked and to see if I could weld something since I had never tig'd before. Great machine to learn and practice with if you don't want to spend alot. You did a great job explaining how to set it up and use it. I haven't used mine much. I'll have to get it out and get to work on some projects. From across the pond, cheers👍

I know the 'A' has been moved on but hope you could answer a couple of questions for me. 1) What model BMW you got your M57/manual box from? 2) I saw in one of your videos you bolted something on to the rear of the gearbox to make it 'spline drive' and not the rubber donut ring thing. Where did you get it from and what is it called?. 3) When you fitted the engine/box in the A chassis, would the bonnet sides have fitted without alteration?.
@rustypaint2 ай бұрын
1 - 2002 e46. 2-BMW ZF Yoke adapter (can’t remember where it was from, I’ll try and have a look through emails). 3- no - will require a bit of work, mainly remote power steering pump / relocation of the alternator to the other side / rerouting of the intake pipes & MAF sensor. The other issue is finding somewhere to fit an intercooler. I’m going top mount on the 32

Initially i was big Fan of BISFORBUILD, later when i found out that the cars that they put together is completely ridiculous, sub standard builds, building cars for SEMA within one month deadline is like disrespecting SEMA altogether. His only goal is to get sponsors by pitching in cancer excuse and do a shady job for SEMA inorder to please the sponsors with minimum amount of time for the build. Anyways its been two years since i last watched their videos. However i am still big fan of that welding guy, he does all the work.

Hey man i have also had this welder for a while with the foot pedal, but once i left off the pedal and stop my weld it shoots a jolt of amps to the tungsten for a split second. I believe it did it for you as well. Do you know what could be causing this? Anything helps! Cheers!
@rustypaint2 ай бұрын
Can’t say I noticed, as I’ve got literally 30 mins of alloy welding experience haha 😂😂. I can only assume it’s due to being a cheap pedal set up, maybe it holds the power for a few seconds after stopping.

What if you want to do a multicolour stencil? Would layering the Vinyl over top each layer pull it off?
@rustypaint3 ай бұрын
You can do it that way, or what we have done in the past is use the stencil for the bulk of the colour, then hand paint the rest. We then usually sand over the top which ‘ages’ the stencil anyway (so the hand painting doesn’t need to be perfect). We have a video on here of one of our stencils we did that way on the side of one of our old hotrods - kzbin.info/www/bejne/jV7PoHeljbtpr8k
