I have a couple of these that I collected in the 1970's. When I read about the lamprey proposal, I examined my specimens and noticed the single "nostril" for the first time, so I am leaning toward the lamprey theory.

Any plans to digitize the map and add it as a basemap to the Lake County GIS online map collection?

Lake County, Colorado? Leadville? I worked there in 1978-9 at the Climax mine after my ETS from Ft. Carson. Living in pure wild west history. Oh sorry, i see this article is about Illinois.

WTH? Who is the desired audience of this video? As an adult, I found it quite offputting. Maybe label it in the title as an offering for a specific age group. This was very confusing.

Why does the Smilodon in 1:43 look like that? The ears are somewhat, canid-like than felid, their appearance looks as if they're malnourished, and the "saber-tooth" are way too long.

Some feathers can look like fur which is the same type of feathering found on pterosaurs
@jacobcox4565Ай бұрын
Look at the feathers on Emus and Cassowaries, they're very similar to this type of feathering that's depicted on the Dryptosaurus model.

One question what are the paper composition different between old type (archeological paper) and new type of paper?
@firegator68534 ай бұрын
the feather patterning is really weird, just random tufts around the body is odd...either add some leftovers in 1 place like a reduced coat for example just on the back or something or leave it scaly since all tyrannosaurids show evidence of just scales

Hi I was hoping you could help me out. I remember hearing about a British man who sang a song called listening in on the radio. He committed suicide after his wife died. I cannot remember his name but he and his wife were perhaps victorian stage actors before. Any chance you know who it was? The recording is here online but I havent been able to find it in over 10 years.

feathers/filaments on this animal are nothing but speculation
@jacobcox4565Ай бұрын
It's not just speculation, they most likely had feathers because related dinosaurs did have feathers, like Yutyrannus.

There is a handsome and informative book on museum exhibition design from the eyes of a famed museum exhibition designer with decades of experience in planning and designing museum exhibitions. The book is available at Fine Arts Press. The book should be of interest to anyone working in or interested in museum exhibition design, as well as residential design in regards to fine art installation.

Also beak is more lightweight than teeth and demands less resources. Even pterosaurs, the flying reptiles, at some point completely lost their teeth like birds.

A question. . What happens to paper that has been covered on both sides with sticky film?
@DunnMuseum9 ай бұрын
Thank you for the question. For a document that has been covered on both sides with sticky film, I would consult with a professional conservator. There are many variables at play that could affect the longevity of the piece including the make-up and condition of the paper when it was covered, the type of adhesive that was used and how that will react over time, and the type of plastic film that was used. If conservation isn't an option right now, the best thing to do would be to keep it in as stable an environment as possible since temperature and humidity changes could cause any of the elements listed above to begin changing and deteriorating.
