I loved Carter as a character but all of his relationships were chemistry-free disasters. Ironically the only character he had chemistry with was Lucy and Noah Wyle put an end to that potential relationship.

Yeah Carter was such a prick to Luka before the Congo. It wasn’t until after the Congo he realized he really treated Luka like shit. He whacked Luka first and he didn’t expect Luka not to nail him back ? Luka walked off but childish Carter tackled him I’m like wtf man.. childish little prick he was to Luka who did nothing wrong.. all he did was love Abby.

Yeah John started that whole fight and when Abby was focusing on Luka he was pissy. Both guys had feelings for Abby. His reaction to Luby reuniting in season 12 was damn priceless and to boot Abby was pregnant with Luka’s son. I was glad Abby never loved Carter. She sure loved Luka.

@@jadasims1914 yeah when John said that Abby scoffed at him. That was a huge red flag and she should of said thanks but no thanks but it was just physical attraction nothing more. They should of just remained friends. Luka loved Abby so much he just isn’t the type to wear his feelings on his sleeves so he holds a lot in. I knew he fell in love with her during their first relationship, it’s why season 9 was so bad on him..I knew he was hurting over Abby.. I was so glad Abby told Luka in season 10, carby was doomed from the start, he needed to hear that since Carter caused their first split. When Luka kissed Abby again I was like oh it’s about time Luka. Finally !!!

Well considering the fact that she’s been the one who got away from him,I would say it’s been those long simmering feelings he’s had ever since they broke up in season 8. Every time Luka looked at Abby and lit up whenever he talked to her or smiled just by any interaction, those feelings never went away and when he finally kissed her again, it opened up his opportunity to restart Luby. Luka just had to make the first move because it wasn’t gonna be Abby, she did it first go around in season 7. This time it was epic timing, no more carter and she was a resident now so she was in a better place to be with him.

I have a strong feeling that Abby was the first woman whom Luka slept with after his wife, Danijela had passed away... The fact that someone (a man!) is able to wait till his wedding night proves that sex means a lot to him, that sex (and love and commitment and relationship itself) is very important to him. That it is not just simple sex - it is _making love_ to him. ❤ I think Luka "lost his innocence" when he and Abby broke up (for the first - and last - time) and then when Abby and Carter got together so Luka went off the rails and started to live a self-destroying life (he drank a lot and slept with 75 % of the nurses and many patients' relatives - including a little girl's mother who had only filed for divorce and a married woman - and Gillian who had a boyfriend at home in Canada)... Of course being hurt, angry, lonely and heartbroken are no excuses for being an asshole (and fornication)!!! 😈 Thank God (and the scriptwriters 😉) he and Abby finally found each other again (for good). ❤ I'm 100 % sure that Luka was only in love with his two wives, Danijela and Abby. 😇

@@_Lane_ yeah when Luka told his virginity story I was whoa hold up. He definitely was more pure than others were and he gave it up to Abby so I’d have to agree with you on Abby being the second person he slept with. no damn wonder he flew off the handle in season 9, he did things I could never imagine a sweetheart like Luka could do and I’m like Jesus I knew he was hurting and depressed but he played off the carter thing but it hurt him and he admitted to Abby while he was drunk that he once again misses her. That was not the first time he said that to her. The way he was watching Abby when she wasn’t looking, I knew he was doing some serious pining for her. He was right that Abby also wasn’t happy with Carter she was still drinking. It just made a lot of sense why Luka was spiraling and sex really was sacred to him. Jeez when he got Abby back the man was so chipper and he gave her a super sentimental gift for Christmas that compass.. Luka really loved Abby. He also proposed to Abby when pregnant with Joe, I knew he’d do that because he’s very traditional. It’s what he had been wanting since he lost his first family to find his love and a child. Abbys first marriage stopped her from marrying Luka right away and I’m like Abby you hit the damn Jack pot with Luka, he provided her everything she yearned for growing up. I was glad Abby realized she was ready to be his wife later. You’re right he really did love two women, both his wives.
