This movie is true to life I swear. My HS sweetheart and I was friends like that and throughout middle school and HS we never really got together but there was this strange energy between us. Long story short after a football game we both was at the school for the evening pep rally. We couldn’t stop looking at each other. We ended up dating until both of us was well into our early 20’s. We even got a graduation pic together. Things didn’t work out and I’m not mad at all. I wish her well wherever she’s at. She was truly my first love and friend.

You have to give Cher credit for her "hard ass" portrayal of sensible Loretta. It wonderfully mirrors Olympia Dukakis's portrayal of the 5:32 mom. They think alike, they talk alike. Bossy but with a soft spot. This is great casting and great acting.

James Cameron greatest quality is to make everything plausible and realistic, any other movie wouldn't had shown it that way and would go full shortcut, the details of transforming her dress, using the vase water and the final slip with her high heels proves she's doing all the efforts to act like a professional prostitute but she's still Helen Tasker, even later on, falling when dancing is another great detail that's add to the realism of the situation

Man I always thought she was beautiful. A lot of people didn’t know that’s really her dancing , no double not even when she fell slipped off the pole bed post scene. No rehearsal either. She was definitely a true natural beauty.

In the movie after she cheated on him he was so turned on here he started kissing her and she doesn't know its him and she went from cheating on him to beating on him..I don't know what the plan was if she didn't beat him up
