Loretta Castorini was never an ugly duckling. She just gave up too soon after her husband died. What a little moonlight can do . . . and Cher, of course.

I adore this scene. I love how excited the beauty shop ladies are that they are going to get to give her a makeover. Also shows loterra is so in love & the light is back in her life. Cher is stunning.

Yes. She feels the light coming back on. She looks at those shoes and applies the lipstick. Something is HAPPENING.

This scene made me wish I had a working fireplace in my bedroom as a kid. Nowadays I wish I had a working fireplace anywhere.

I love Moonstruck. I love this episode when Loretta went through a makeover. She looks so good. I love the way she had her hair. Oh God, that dress looks good on her. You do have to give yourself a makeover.

I cry every time I see Moonstruck. Every female or male should abide by the rules before becoming intimate. As shown in this film Cher knew the place where he worked. Where he lived

You have to give Cher credit for her "hard ass" portrayal of sensible Loretta. It wonderfully mirrors Olympia Dukakis's portrayal of the 5:32 mom. They think alike, they talk alike. Bossy but with a soft spot. This is great casting and great acting.

Which section of Brooklyn is this?
@laamiroly Жыл бұрын
The Met (Metropolitan Opera House) is in Manhattan, not Brooklyn. The neighborhood she lives in-in the movie is an ode to the old South Brooklyn neighborhoods of Cobble Hill, Carol Gardens & Brooklyn Heights.

Uuuugh! I hate that scene. It wasn't the grey that was the problem, it was the haircut. She just needed her curls to bounce back and lose the frizz.
@pam06263 жыл бұрын
I did too. I wanted her to walk out of the salon perfected coiffed like Audrey Hepburn, but she looks so harsh. But I think it was intentional. This was considered beautiful by Brooklyn standards in the 1980’s. Brooklyn then was known for being gauche & unsophisticated (think Saturday Night Fever) compared to Manhattan so her hair & makeup fit the bill perfectly. And don’t get me started on the maroon dress and evening coat with leather patches that she wears to Lincoln Center. 🤦🏻♀️

This is the 80's. Women used to have this kind of hair. Also I like this makeover because she didn't change how she is. She just needed a little glow up!!
