Question, how are fuel injectors positioned and angled? Are they tilted Or is it position straight up and did you have to adjust the cam gears to get it to work?

@romainehenderson1876 the fuel injectors are basically in stock location, except there's an extension welded into the original holes. Nothing is adjusted with the cam gears besides being degreed in to zero.

@calid6960 ok. I'm an ASE master technician, been in professional dealerships for over 11 years, master kia, master hyundai (when they were still using mitsubishi engines just about identical to these), silver chrysler, and now coming up on master nissan here shortly, trained numerous other techs to be able to start out on their own, been heavily working on twin turbo 3000gts and stealths since 2008, in fact rebuilding my white twin turbo was the first car I've ever worked on. This is exactly the amount of work that needed to be done for all the parts I changed. There are no unnecessary steps here. Sure I could of sneaked the ignition coil, ptu, and iac out of there without taking the intake or intercooler pipes off, but then it makes it harder to show what bolts I'm taking off and it also makes it harder on the people watching that don't do this for a living.

Hi Benn, I'm looking at your intake manifold and wondering if I could get any information on it as I'm interested in an intake of similar form factor for my VR4. I've got a bunch of questions if you wouldn't mind answering them: 1. How much does it change the power curve, especially the low end torque? 2. Does it make more, less, or equal power to a stock intake? 3. How does the intake mount to the heads?? I see no vertical bolts? I'm interested in exposing the rear side of my motor, and I think this design has proven it's useability, especially since Brian Carter runs it in his 1300HP VR4. Also, very cool cars, I'm a Louisiana native myself :P
@bennplaisance
@bennplaisance 2 жыл бұрын
Brian also made this for me before I got deeper into fabrication but he already had all dimensions and figured it out on his car so I probably would have gotten him to make mine regardless. He's currently not making any more. 1 & 2 - there is really no data on this. Brian did a dyno run after the intake and made more power but he also changed up the engine and then the turbo shortly after that. The short runners and large tank volume should help on top end and probably lose down low though 3. These are made by machining the lower intake manifold and then welding a D shape tube onto it. It uses the stock lower intake studs and nuts to bolt to the heads. On a stockish car, or one that's not pretty extreme like this, Brian's, and a hand full of others, this intake isn't worth it. It doesn't require going drive by wire throttle but it's easier; it does however require custom intercooler piping. It also hits the hood on 6g74 swapped cars and stock engine cars with the stock hood. There is a few other short runner intakes out there that keep the throttle on the same side as stock, keep longer runners than this, and allow access to the rear plugs like you want but would have to be found used on 3000gt market places like Facebook or the forums. There's a good number of us in Louisiana, I've been working on a lot of locals cars for years. We have a Louisiana 3000gt facebook page as well. Some of us will be at the lakefront meet on May 1st if you're interested in coming out.

@jonathonhebert7042 2 жыл бұрын
@@bennplaisance Thanks for the info, I greatly appreciate it! The meet sounds like good fun, since I don't really know a single other 3000GT owner in person besides myself. Sadly, I probably can't make it since I'm currently enrolled at LSU and actually left my car back home an hour and a half away to protect it from idiot drivers in Baton Rouge lol. I'm studying for Mechanical and Aerospace engineering, so I'm very interested in trying to improve my car where I can. I designed an intake manifold of my own, tapered to optimize flow. I have no means of manufacturing it currently as I'm the stereotypical jobless college kid haha, but I'd be interested in trying to in the future. As a side note, I noticed your gauge setup; I 3D print gauge pods for our cars that hold 52mm gauges, see my channel for info if you're interested in a better solution than pushing gauges through the dash holes. It'll be a while before I'd be able to hook you up with a setup like that, but it's available in the future if you're interested. I'll be frank, I'm damn good at 3D modeling, this is my work: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bpyUp5dtYrpljdE Me and an online friend of mine also work together to design interior parts and such. If you ever need anything like that, just email me at [email protected]

@@jonathonhebert7042 you're close to a few of us then. All my gauges in my cars are 60mm, I did push them into the dash holes in the video but I also off camera cut up the stock gauge cluster to hold them tighter and to make sure there are no air gaps. You probably would be able to sell the 52mm ones fairly easily. I can't think of anything at the moment I'd need printed even though I was thinking about a part that could be last week, I just don't remember right now haha

Failing Ignition Coils can have high internal resistance causing a weak or no spark. The windings begin to break down from age, heat, and moisture.
