A lovely video! After watching this, I made a point of visiting Thiessen Kai while I was on holiday in Kiel, and it was certainly worth it! I got there by taking a bus from the centre to Kiel Wik, then on the free ferry (Adler 4) across the canal to Kanalstraße then a pleasant walk to the quay. I had breakfast in the quaint café shown here and enjoyed the 'Steurbord' (Starboard) breakfast option. It was much busier on a sunny Sunday in September 2024 but no wonder, because the food was great. Afterwards, I walked from there along to Friederichsort through the disused military grounds and caught the ferry from Falkenstein back to the city centre at the Bahnhofsbrücke. Thanks again for the video - if I hadn't seen it on KZbin before my holiday, I would never have discovered this lovely little corner of Kiel.

Wij noemen het gewoon watermolens. Dat is wel wat verwarrend want een watermolen kan ook door water gedreven zijn en dus een ander doel hebben. Echter komen water aangedreven molens alleen in het zuiden voor terwijl wind aangedreven molen juist weer boven de rivieren de dienst uitmaken.

FYI it's not called the Van Sloten Windmill, it's called the 'Molen van Sloten' meaning Sloten's Windmill, Sloten being the village it's located at.
