Hi, I wrote here because you helped me on the mother so I ask also for the dfam. I received my dfam and I noticed that I have some oscillator and noise bleed into the audio output (very low but there) also when the dfam is at idle. If I lover the volume or the mixer that disappear. I also ear the frequency change into the oscillator. I faint but is there. Is it normal or maybe is faulty? Thanks
@braintree56
@braintree56 9 сағат бұрын
That doesn't sound normal to me... When I turn up the volume on mine, I don't hear anything unless it's being triggered. I'd look into a return/exchange.

Thanks for the great overview. I'm drawn to the Warp cause of it's sound in a few videos I saw. I'm putting together my first eurorack rack and I only have money, space and desire for only one oscillator and I'd like polyphony. Considering that the warp and expansion module will cost about $800, do you know of and personally prefer another option that has a similar rich sound and variety? Much appreciated!

Polyphony in Modular can be a bit tricky. This would probably be your best option if that's what you want. I don't know if any other device that could provide it as easily!

I've been watching your tutorials for some time and they are helping me wrap my brain around this incredible instrument. I have a little synth experience and modular is very new. I'm a sax and EWI player. My question is about using it with logic. What I would like to do is program a drum loop in logic and have that tempo/clock sent to control the sh tempo. I have a midi to 16th to go from my scarlet to the sh. Can you point me in the right direction? Thanks
@braintree56
@braintree56 Күн бұрын
Yep. (I think) In Logic, go to Settings -> Audio+Midi -> Midi Sync. In the midi sync project settings, make sure to enable the midi clock for the channel the Subh is on. The Subh should be configured to receive the midi clock. So the settings you need to adjust are in Logic. Let me know if you still have trouble and I can try to do it the next time I'm in my studio. I'm trying to give this advice from memory... :)

Is there enough gain to raise line level signals to eurorack levels so we can mix in line level synths and us this mixer in that way?
@braintree56
@braintree56 8 күн бұрын
Great question. It provides up to +5 db of gain. So it won't quite get you there... You'll still need a dedicated I/O module.

My wish list for this sequencer, if they ever do an update, is the transpose latching you mention in the video, rotating on individual drum sub-tracks and not just on the drum track as a whole, and having a probability that a given step will ratchet, not just that the step (which may or may not have ratcheting) will play. Those additions would make it amazing for me.

I really enjoy your tutorial serieses. Great entertainment. Unfortunately this time I was confused when you started using "seq cv range" without explaining it first. usually you do that.
@braintree56
@braintree56 10 күн бұрын
Thanks for the feedback. I talk a lot about the CV range in the video on Button Combos. I probably should have explained it here first, but I bet you'll get the info you need in that video... It's basically how high or low the control voltage will go. So, in terms of the pitch, the control voltage can go -5v to +5v at full clockwise. At 1 volt per octave, that's 10 octaves of range. If you set the dial at 1/2 way, it's essentially half that range - -2.5v to +2.5v, so 5 octaves of range. Does that help clear it up?

Great work again - best labyrinth tutorial on t'internet. Thanks for all the efforts you are putting in to educate on this wonderful synth! The entire first video is a waste of time. He talked for five minutes and said nothing about the operation of the Digitakt 2.
@braintree56
@braintree56 13 күн бұрын
That's because this series is about the original Digitakt. It was made before the Digitakt 2. The point of the first video is establishing the pace of the series as slow and thorough as opposed to fast and to the point. If you felt this video was a waste of time, you'll likely find the subsequent videos a waste of time too. As an educator, it's always a challenge to find a pace that works for everyone. I did not intend to do that with these. I saw that there were other videos out there that focus on efficiency. I wanted to make something different. If you're looking for efficiency - these are not the videos for you. There are lots of other tutorials for you. If you are looking for thorough, paced, and thoughtful presentation, I suspect you'll find it here. And by the end - you'll have learned every detail of your box. Don't skip forward though!!! It's all important. :)
