Cool stuuf. Mine *finally* landed. I have Strega as well and they sound completely different. I was actually thinking to hop over Bruxa bcuz of having Strega beside the rack BUT then I heard MN demo it and heard immediately that theyxare two different personalities. The shared components "act" similarly but saturate and sound different. Absorb is like a gentle LP (6db/oct iirc) in the end of the fb path so that fed-back signal gradually becomes attenuated by it w each new passing (that is why they say absorbed into the ground). Same absorb routing in Strega. This module is a god-send for the MN rack I use. It gives some much needed warmth and texture to certain patches, although QPas heops there as well. QPas and Bruxa sound fab together btw. Been getting super-lovely drones with this abd Spectraphone and QPas. Thing w Spn is the way you can feed the spectral shifting thru Bruxa and let Bruxa work magic on smearing the cold Spn into warm washes. Gentle mod of timexwill give lovely chorusing of the timbres. Have fun.

Awesome. I don't have a strega and was wondering how similar they sounded. I'm glad there's a difference there. I actually just got a great deal on a used Qpas - just arrived in the mail and haven't even put it in my rack yet! Can't wait to try it out. This is only my second MN module. I've had Maths for a long time. Right now, I'm loving it and will be trying to get more of their modules. Spectraphon is on the list!

Nice vid! I love my Bruxa but wasn’t clear on all the time cv inputs. Definitely informative. Thanks! 🙏

So far one of the best videos about Bruxa... Pls do another one bro!

Thanks! I'll probably do a no talking sound demo one as it seems there's a lot of interest.

I'm really enjoying mine too! So easy to just get lost in it.

AC coupled means you could actually feed it other audio. I have no idea what that would do. I'm saying that because control voltage is DC and audio (wav file, a song, etc.) is AC. If I'm wrong please correct me, but it's now why I have multiple styles of mixers, one being the end of the line which is AC only, before I go into my stereo field module. The stereo field module is my OUT in my case setup. Bruxa seems wild. I like it. Is it almost like a delay pedal with a filter..? P.S. Do you have a new favorite VCA or are you sticking with the Intellijel Quad?

Great point! You’re right that AC coupling allows you to feed audio into the modulation input, and on the Bruxa, it can lead to some wild audio-rate modulation. However, it’s important to note that the input treats audio as a modulation source, not as something to process like a filter or delay-it’s still modulating the Time parameter, not shaping the audio directly. You can feed audio into a DC input, it just won't remove any static voltages. Considering most audio moves a lot, the result might be similar. As for mixers, you’re spot on about AC coupling being used to remove DC offsets in audio paths, which is crucial for clean signals in your mix. But for a modulation input like this, AC coupling just ensures it focuses on dynamic changes. So... You're right... But for this purpose, I'm not sure that thinking about it as an audio input fits. If that makes sense. Maybe... Who knows... It's Make Noise. How are you finding the Stereo Field as an output module? What module is it?

@@braintree56 Yeah, I just couldn't think of another reason it would be AC coupled. Does it say why that one input is AC couples? I knew the audio wouldn't be fed into it, but I thought the modulation would be different than CV, as in maybe just amplitude. The stereo field module is pretty cool, but it's more of a proximity stereo field, the name is a little misleading. But it's definitely cool! Especially if you buffered mult audio and place it around. It has seven inputs and outputs stereo via a left and right channel. Each input is different. I've been separating the Moog's this way. Let me find a link for it and I'll attach it. Is your main VCA the Intellijel Quad? Have you moved on from that?

so.... a digital delay but you can't sync it to a clock?? This is like the Lyra-FX - distortion/noise module. hard pass.

What I am doing: Subharmonicon > WMD Orion > TRex Replicator > Lyra 8-FX > Bruxa > WMD Orion stereo. Both the Lyra 8-FX and Bruxa use the PT2399 chip. Lyra has two, Bruxa has three. The delay line through everything produces a smeared droning harmony to the Subharmonicon. Each adds "flaws" and accents something from the previous stage. The Replicator is adjusted to let the tape slip a little bit, so the delayed sound has a randomness to it, with a small warped record feel.

Sounds really interesting. I love hearing how people are using modules and thinking about the connections. Subharmonicon sounds so good with effects like these.
