Since other people have kind of commented about it, Blaire's character is great because throughout the show she has real character progression.

To be fair about Nate, while yes some real stuff is happening with his family and he deserves someone to be there for him, the same time he never gave Blaire a chance to be there for him before and Nate has messed up their relationship time and time again so Blaire deserved some time for Nate to show up for her and make effort to repair the relationship but instead it just continued to be more about him. So his problems are valid ofcourse but they arent an excuse to his continued neglect of his relationship. Personally I love Jenny. I related to her soo much when I was in highschool watching this for the first time. Her family if falling apart, her mom is so wrapped up in herself he abandoned her kids, her dad tries really hard to be a good father but is sometimes out of touch with what its like to be a kid in that world specially as a girl. Her brother is the golden child and gets all the attention and privilege. She is constantly surrounded by certain behavior from her piers and wants to fit in somewhere and be accepted. I can 100% see why her behavior escalates the way it does. In fact everyone else is behaving worse than her but she gets the bad rep for because she is held to a higher standard where as everyone else they expect that kind of behavior.

As a person who is in love with this show and has watched all 17 seasons of the show I can safely say that Season 1 isn't really that good, the show gets better from like S2 onwards...
