Does this kit work for the 2.3s that they put in the 04-whatever NA mazda 3s? Ive got an 04 rebuild bored out to a 3.0 and i need to do some work to fix the oiling issues these have. And this seems to be the kit. But that oil pan shroud didnt look right

3:41 If you can wiggle the battery post terminal... it ain't tight enough. If you can't tighten it anymore and the clamp is all the way at the bottom of the terminal post (the thickest part) there's something wrong with the clamp (inspect and fix) or the post isn't large enough (maybe get a shim?).

Do NOT waste your time doing this on an RS. I had to do it to pull my oil pan to replace some engine bearings. Even the whole “separate the trans by 5mm” means 4 more hours of work. Ford idiots, in all their splendid genius, decided to put 2 bolts connecting engine to bellhousing BEHIND THE DAMN PTU. . This requires you to remove the airbox, the primary intake pipe, the battery, battery tray, upper PTU bracket, engine undertray, AC compressor, Starter motor, passenger wheel, outer CV nut, passenger CV Axle, passenger CV axle carrier bearing, driveshaft from the PTU, then remove the entire PTU just to loosen the 2 bolts behind it by 5mm. … Straight up, FUCK YOU FORD…

A good transmission fluid for the ST transmission is Castrol Syntrans FE 75W, It meets Ford WSS-M2C200-D2. Its made in Germany so I wouldn't be surprised if it the Motul stuff re-packaged. The Ford fluid is about $75.00 litre here in Australia compared to the $20.00 litre for the Castrol offering. Also you can re-fill the transmission fluid from the top of the tranny case, much easier than using that side fill plug.
