Hi! Thanks for your video. I've switched from a used 122PS Swace (bought in August 2023) to a 140PS Swace in March. While the old one wasn't a bad car, the new one is better to drive in so many ways. I agree, you have to get used to driving this car. First of all you must have a sensitive right foot :-) Nevertheless, I enjoy going in Sport Mode, the car is very lively, but with some experience, you'll still be able to keep it in EV mode. Fuel consumption is about 4.0l... I still prefer my second car, a Honda Civic Diesel 2018 for highway tempo (limit is 130km/h here in Austria). :-) Cheers, Günter

Brilliant little car, especially as now as of 2024 available as a mild hybrid.

Such a gorgeous car. Better than a 911 in every way (If you ask me) I’ll be very very sad when the last one roles off the production line in 2024. ♥️💔

When I actually connect to see live feed/snap, it just buffers… and buffers and buffers and buffers and keeps buffering and it buffers some more. Any ideas?

kind of missed the whole point of the tech. The petrol version is 10mpg worse than this. The epower just means you get way better fuel economy and all the torque from the electric motor. No plug in nonsense and no range anxiety. It's spot on. Everyone is crying out for this. Think you are a bit out of touch. Full electric cars are garbage. nobody wants to sit and wait for it to charge in this day and age, and it's not exactly cheap to charge it. Petrol lives.

Agreed batch - it doesn’t look great in the back in fact there looks to be less room than the e2008. Seems odd. I also prefer cars that have moved away from that ‘gubbins’ between the front seats - it’s unnecessary and makes you feel hemmed in - it just seems they can’t move the design language away from legacy thinking….

Echoing much of Bill's comment below ....great reviewing from you. It's a very underated car and I would like a bit more punch from the engines but having had my CX5 for 5 years it is very likely I will buy again for the reasons you state....thank you James

The engine is 50% thermally efficient! That is super high for an internal combustion engine generator. Even if this hybrid is barely more efficient than the normal car, it still has many of the advantages of an EV: Better reliability, instant throttle, regenerative braking (saves brakes) etc.

Great review, only stumbled across this channel now, I didn't realise James had his own channel. Love James's review style, it's not shouty, dramatic, proper motoring journalist. This sounds like a good car, i like that all the nanny systems can be switched off via only physical button... are you listening BYD, Hyundai etc....

I have been following this car (strike through) quadricycle since I first learned about it and this is one of the best, most personable KZbin reviews of the vehicle I have watched. It catches the essence of what the vehicle is for: an 'almost' ideal commuting vehicle for runs to the shops & errands of that sort. Unfortunately, as Batch said, manufacturers don't want to build vehicles like this for the mass market because there is no money to be made. Citroen, to their credit, took on the challenge and I think they have come up with the raison d'etre for owning or leasing one of these vehicles. Stellantis, the parent company of Citroen, builds these vehicles in Morocco and the earliest iterations had some problems due to manufacturing (poorly welded internal frames) and oversights to 'real world' conditions in countries where you might find snow and other inclement weather conditions, i.e. no wheel shrouds to prevent debris from getting up into the motor and wheel mechanics. Hopefully, by now, feedback from users has corrected these problems and quality control has caught more of the manufacturing shortcomings before they leave the factory. Except for a brief period when Stellantis put some Amis out for car sharing services they own/ed in Washington, DC, I don't think any will ever see the streets of North America aside from some hobbyists who just have to have one of these 'commuters' for their own enjoyment; c'est dommage. 😟

I’m surprised people like how it looks. I understand for safety and efficiency reasons it can’t look like the 1950-70s, but does it really have to look like this? The grill is entirely unnecessary with electric.

Nice design, they’re about to replicate it on a downscaled crossover named Basalt in south America, too bad it won’t be this nice or refined as they are planning to place it as a cheap crossover.

The problem with the Beetle was that it wasn't really as good as a Golf. The Buzz will always be more scarce and doesn't have much rivalry or alternative. The id Buzz strikes me as very likeable with an undertone of disappointment because there's several things it could have done better.

The presenter is the ultimate "Mr negativity" and as for people not crying out for this particular type of technology it happens to be the best selling car in 2022 and 20123. Either the presenter is wrong in his summing up or there are a lot of stupid people buying the Qashqai.

This SUV woks even when you don't have a power charging grid around town, it makes sense. It's more powerful and confortable than a regular Qashqai. And nobody drives trying to hear the 3 cyl engine 🤣put some music or a podcast for god sake.

Sadly the car I should never have sold but being caught up in Dieselgate in Canada 2017 I made a bad decision. Now I have to watch these reviews knowing that VW in their lack of wisdom no longer make this model available in North America.. Loved my Touareg , loved the Diesel have subsequently not loved my decision to sell . Maybe I should see if I could import one from Germany ??

I was on a wait list for the VW New Beetle in 1998, finally got one: 5-speed manual transmission, diesel. Still have it, still drives great, still gets 50+ mpg diesel. AND people are once again excited to see it!

Did you say a Ledbury Maestro? Now there's a story. Only the post-BL Rover Group could think that flogging Maestros to post-Communist Bulgaria would be a profitable venture... And then the unsold ones came back! The Ami, though - I would absolutely have one of those basic little beasties. It does what it is designed for, nothing more, nothing less, and costs pennies to run. It's quirky, and I wouldn't care what anyone else thought. (Mind you, I did once own a Trabant, so I'm used to oddities...)

Although this vehicle is made in China it’s still a French car. Like Triumph motorcycles are made in Thailand and Royal Enfield are produced in India who cares? I’m not going to mention the war here but if this car didn’t have a Citroen badge on the bonnet who would guess where it’s produced? If you not interested in outright performance then like me I want a glider as in going over the potholes in the U.K. not noticing said potholes then this might tick all the boxes. I’m not a fan of BMW cars but if this car didn’t have a Citroen badge I wouldn’t be surprised that it would give BMW a run for its money if only in the comfort stakes. Like for like I’d go for this C5X any day.

I wish they would just stop trying to make electric cars that try to mimic ice cars, if its electric embrace the things that make it good, don't add fake engine noise etc. Electric cars have instant torque so traction control is so easy to implement, dual and quad motor electric cars can have torque vectoring
