Nice seeing different Bronco versions in action. Over the years I did a lot of off-roading in CJs with open diffs no problem. It does require a bit more care in choosing a line and using momentum. Your video shows fun can be had in any of the Bronco versions off-road (although larger tires and some skid plates are a good idea for the base model).

The open diffs keep it interesting for sure. I don’t mind it though. One day I’ll fully build this out with lockers and axles swaps but this 100% does what I need

Just a heads up to everyone looking at buying a bronco, some of the lower trim models DO NOT HAVE SKID PLATES, if you want to take it off road like in this video get the models that have skid plates but if it's a road queen you don't need them. 2023 ford bronco, big bend, mid pack. 10 speed auto, 2.3L rear locker........ ours is a road queen

You can do a lot with a 2 inch lift 33s and a gas tank skid. I’d recommend those at minimum to do any trails like in the video.

This video and the others are very helpful! Just got the 202r big bend & will do majority of my driving for work around town/highway so didnt think it msfe sense to get a badlands. I was thinking of getting either a 2 or 3" lift woth some bigger tires & this was a huge help! Question: is the base plastic skid plate that comes on it fine toure saying? Best to just get for for the gas instesd of upgrsding the front skid?@baseafbronco

I agree. There is unfortunately no easy or cheap way of doing it since the ring gear is welded to the diff carrier assembly on the base models. You need a whole diff, gear install kit, and air compressor. Not worth 2k and still being stuck with 3.73.

Now that you’ve had a base for a while, how do you feel about 3.73 gears and no lockers? Debating between a base and a black diamond but not sure if the extra money is worth it
@baseafbronco
@baseafbronco Жыл бұрын
Base Sasquatch would be the way to go imo. Both base and black diamond have that smaller front diff that gets stressed with 35 and up tires. If that is not an option though I’d go for the black diamond for the rear locker and gearing even if it costs a little more. The base model handles 33s great but I wouldn’t wanna go bigger than that long term.
