Elliot doesnt have a lot of connection to the plot like some other characters but I think his transition after his time at Thors. He's a normal kid who's unsure of himself in a class full of nobles and special circumstances but grows into a confident and skilled young adult without doing a 180 in personality.

I see a lot of talk about if he is truly bland or not. And everything i see about him not being bland; traumatic past, depression, and so on... All further confirms how basic and bland he is. Rean is the cliché reliable good boy. Every girl wants, every guy wants to be him. And no problem can he solved without his presence. Like many basic anime protagonists, he has a traumatic backstory mixed with some mystery in order for him to he able to relate to every single person around him. He is incapable of offending anyone, and you can be sure that even his enemies will like and/or respect him no matter what he does. In his universe, he is everyone's preference as a person. He is the Every-protag! EDIT: He even has his own 'super sayain' transformation.

I like Rean, he was definitely made to be a cliché character. But that's completely fine. Especially in a game series like Cold Steel. Where the overarching plots throughout the games are pretty damn depressing topics. And he does have his own moments of that as well, but that's just adding depth. But i must say, following a character throughout school - to civil war - to war hero - to working as a teacher, was amazing. The amount of world building and character building they managed to do with even side NPCs you meet along the way is top notch. Like the fellow students at school. Which adds to the world building and who's conversations throughout the games show that even they have character building done. And they are also a great way to show the player how time do go on.

Okay, ive never played league BUT from the very little i know about the game, the characters are all extremely obviously LEGENDS (I.E. stories, myths, tales, folktales.) So i personally think that these varying stories and portrails are just simply vague interpretations of an unknown story. This happens alot region-to-region with real life stories and legends. To me, each interpretation is just as real and just as not cannon compared to the other.
