Great video. I’ve just been offered what seems to be the same greenhouse. I’ll be going to disassemble it this week then clean and rebuild pretty much as you have. Can I ask where you found the plans and what size heads the bolts were? They look like a 10mm socket would fit but I could be be wrong. Thanks. 😎

Great video showing the development of your acorns into young trees. I have had some of my oak trees in small pots since acorns from 5 years ago. I also have lots of maples too along with my favourite Sycamore which my Dad found and planted for me 24 years ago. This tree is now featured on my youtube logo and appears in many of my videos.

It's good to leave the lower branches and let them grow to thicken up the base of the tree. You can shorten them later. I enjoy your videos!

I love the garden planter, in seems best to utilize reclaimed as it makes no sense to place brand new wood outside...lol Plus the rustic appearance is lovely and blends with the beautiful landscape and scenery.

Your method really worked. I picked up 2 acrons that were germinating on the floor and put them in a large pot. And yesterday one sprouted Thanks for the tip and keep on going 👍

Cool 😎… Remember junipers strength is stored in its foliage so removing lots all at once can really weaken the tree, and also revert it to juvenile growth setting it back a lot… also roots and pruning should be worked 1 year apart,

Hello from Norway! I recently started collecting and planting acorns in cups with coco-fiber like you did and they've grown up to 15cm with nice big leaves. I noticed some small browns spots on the leaves. Got any clue what could cause this?

The reason I sprout them in the fridge is squirrels. They decimate them when left on the ground. I did learn in an naturalist class that every few years the tree will produce a larger than normal supply to have more than the squirrels could ever eat to guarantee the survival of the species. Red and White are on alternating years to guarantee some will survive a harsh cold winter.

Howdy, Kit! Thanks for the snowy garden tour.😃 In Central Texas, we usually get snow that hangs around a day or two every few years. Usually, we get a dusting once or twice around January. The sun comes out mid-day melting the dusting of snow.

It has been 2 years now, how did you go? Edit: just watched you plant some sprouted corns on a video from a month ago, are they the same ones? Love your soil by the way, looks very nice, best of luck.

Maaan. You were able to be real rough with it. I hope it works out. It looks like Cotoneaster horizontalis which has that very stiff herringbone shoot arrangement. There's loads of it about my area, but I didn't think it was a runner for any kind of bonsai as it seems so determined to follow that rigid growth pattern. I'm interested to see how it grows.

@GrowWithKit
@GrowWithKit Ай бұрын
Yes you can, you don’t need as many males as females, maybe 1 to 3. They need warmth also to breed quickly.

Put it in the ground. Mine is 5 years old and 15 feet high, trunk 5" at the base. Heavy prune this season and I aim to try the cuttings method. Next year I'll coppice at the base and allow only 1 shoot to grow. Established root allows superfast growth and really straight, desirable for timber cropping without waiting for the roots to establish......they're already there!

i think you should just wire what you need to bend. and not the whole tree unless you want for some reason to bend the whole tree. there was no need of wiring that thick trunk.
@GrowWithKit

It was probably the first tree i tried wiring and the trunk wasn’t thick at the time. I grew a load of these birch from seed.

If you try planting an acorn around here they'll all be hoovered up by squirrels and rats. I use the fridge and it works well. Acorns in a container with a wet paper towel will do it.

DAughters handed me two large cuttings with fruits forming and leaves from her friends fig tree. Only problem is theyve been sitting in her car in a bag for almost a week! Ive chopped bottom inch off and placed straight into some water. Tomorrow I might try these methods. Thank you for a very good video. Will subscribe
