Thank you, I’d just take out the main growing bud and leave the secondary buds for next year.

Maaan. You were able to be real rough with it. I hope it works out. It looks like Cotoneaster horizontalis which has that very stiff herringbone shoot arrangement. There's loads of it about my area, but I didn't think it was a runner for any kind of bonsai as it seems so determined to follow that rigid growth pattern. I'm interested to see how it grows.

Thanks for that I think your right, I think im just going to try to establish some main branches and see how it goes. Should be fun I’ll keep updating.
