Doesn't it cut your hands up to grab the line in by hand instead of around the spool? For sure do that though? Thanks for the info
@ThousandYardStare
@ThousandYardStare 12 сағат бұрын
Yes you can cut into your hands if you pull a fish in just using the line but only when the line is quite thin - that's why most people use 10lb-12lb line (or even heavier) on these types of reels. For the fish I target the line needs to be thinner since they will be able to see it.

That's interesting, I noticed that as far as the AA holders go, those holders seem to be linked so you could lose 2 if one went bad? I'm never buying throw away batteries again, high amp rechargeable is my way forward. Still need one of those solar big charge packs as well, but they are £££

All the holders are separate and they will only go bad if they get wet or touch contacts together. Yes, rechargeable batteries are great - I have them in another box, lol As far as charging packs for batteries go I got one with one of the metal detectors I bought years ago - it charges 8 AA at a time so is very handy.

Sorry, I've just realized what you meant when you said the holders were linked. They are in two's but the batteries are kept far enough apart that there's no chance of them touching unless there is a huge furring mess bursting from the corrupted battery. I hope you're keeping well, man.

Fish, what would you say the maximum casting distance is on average?
@ThousandYardStare
@ThousandYardStare 4 күн бұрын
I generally use an unweighted worm if bait fishing - that will cast approx. 10m (33 feet) easily but further if an E-Z Trout Float is also used - they are very good, in all my kits and can be found here: geni.us/U7xkguZ If using a small spinner as shown in this video I can throw that over 20 metres (80+ feet).

Yes, I was aware of such things but I'd never really looked into them until I was contacted and asked if I wanted to review it for the channel - as I am often out way up in the hills it seemed like a good product to review so I said yes and I'm very pleased with it. As a gift idea it is very good and it is genuinely well made. Since it is sold on Amazon the price will probably fluctuate so it's worth keeping an eye on it if you're interested. I use a plug in on my browser called 'camelcamelcamel' which tracks the prices of anything on Amazon - it's free and shows historical prices for anything I'm interested in. I simply set a price alert then get an email when the price drops to what I'm willing to pay. It's a great thing to just set and forget.

It's a backpack fridge / freezer which can be set from +20C -to -20C and uses the same battery shown in this video. We used it as a freezer all the way up to our self catering cottage then used it as a fridge on the way back for cheese, meat, bottles of wine etc. It got the seal of approval from my wife so all is good. Everything I've featured from Litheli has been excellent quality and a reasonable price.

Added to that it is pure quality. It has permanent residence in my cycling backpack so I can take a break when I'm way up in the hills, have a quick brew and start pedaling again with renewed enthusiasm. Apologies to OutIn for taking so long with the review but with something so compact and technical I had to charge / discharge / store / check for loss of stored battery power ...... and make PLENTY of brews since my viewers would never forgive me if I didn't continue to recommend products they need in their life. I'm pleased to say it performed perfectly and I can recommend it 100% - it's a real game changer for me. My wife loves this espresso machine too and that is the greatest seal of approval anyone could wish for since she thinks I have way too many 'gadgets'... Thanks for watching and check out my other videos for reviews of more quality products. I do not get paid to feature / review any products on either of my KZbin channels and I only show products that I genuinely use myself. OutIn on Instagram: @outin.inc.official.

Install J shaped channels into the ground so you can cool the backside of the panels with a fan and the cool earth temperature. Suck the heat directly off the back of the panels with the top of the J configuration into the ground and it should expel cool air from the bottom of the J configuration.
@ThousandYardStare
@ThousandYardStare 5 күн бұрын
I'm not sure why I would want to use electricity to pull heat from the panels as they don't have a problem overheating. The mirrors only bounce evening light back - I have plenty of light on the panels until late afternoon. Each ground mounted panel has a huge hollow space under the panel which probably serves to cool the panel. I'm not sure what you mean by "cool the backside of the panels with a fan and the cool earth temperature" so some clarity on that would be good - thanks for watching.

@ThousandYardStare
@ThousandYardStare 11 күн бұрын
lol, if you haven't caught bugger all that must mean that you've caught plenty of fish? I've caught plenty of fish too. Seriously though, this rod is great and I've bought 6 of them to put into different backpacks and extended survival kits. Last week I had a couple of decent trout on it while using my favorite silver Fox vibrax spinner but the video footage was terrible so I deleted it. It was lashing down with rain and the rain noise made the video unwatchable. If it starts lashing down with rain the fish can sometimes go berserk and attack anything since the heavy rain washes so many insects out of the trees, plus you can stalk closer to the fish without them seeing you due to all the disturbance on the water surface. Unfortunately most anglers hide under shelter during those conditions and wait for the rain to stop. I realized that it was the same situation when lamping for rabbits at night - in conditions of stiff wind and drizzling rain the rabbits are still out and sit tight, waiting to be shot from closer range. If you fish and shoot in all conditions you'll learn what the prey does in every weather scenario and that will add to the chances of catching / shooting something. Best of luck next time you're out fishing.

The mulch scared me...it could be catch afire from heating up after concentrated reflections of light ...i think it safer if u remove the mulch ...
@ThousandYardStare
@ThousandYardStare 22 күн бұрын
Thanks for the clear explanation of your concerns. A previous comment mentioned the mulch but offered nothing in the way of an explanation - that comment just said "Bro ditch the mulch. U gna melt em xD". Reflected light is very different from concentrated light and since the light being reflected is not concentrated it is no more dangerous than the sunlight it is reflecting. If I'd had concave mirrors focusing a beam onto the panels then it would definitely be a fire risk if that beam was moved to concentrate on anything flammable but in this case I'm simply reflecting light, not concentrating it. However, I previously considered installing convex mirrors to spread the sunlight further than a simple straight reflection but those mirrors are very expensive compared to what I've used. If I ever come into disposable money I'll invest in some of the convex mirrors to spread the sunlight further and although it will weaken the intensity per area it will spread it over more panels than a simple reflected light. I hope that makes sense.
@daniellapain1576
@daniellapain1576 6 күн бұрын
@@ThousandYardStare this will work but the space in between would overlap reflecting light from the mirrors in that kind of setup so the best place to have the panels is in the areas that the two mirrors meet.

@@daniellapain1576 (my other channel) Yes that would work for when the sun is high in the sky but I only really need the light to be enhanced later in the day when the sun is behind the panels. If I put the mirrors too close to the panel it would shade the panels earlier in the day (especially in the Winter) when the sun is low in the sky. Since the solar system (12kW) is bigger than I need I'm really just trying to extend the time it generates power when the sun is low and behind the panels in the evening. Hope that makes sense.

Outside of using the big mayflies the other dry flies I use have wings the same height as the hackle and they cast no problem - often I find that using a decent size grey wulff (especially in fast moving water) will work as well as a mayfly and definitely casts better.

@ThousandYardStare
@ThousandYardStare Ай бұрын
Yes, I love tomatoes. As I work from home and have plenty of time for cooking we're having a Spanish style sauce (tomatoes, garlic, onions, oregano) with roast chicken and parsley mash tonight. It is awesome to get some of the ingredients from the garden. We're following that meal with a fruit medley of wild strawberries, alpine strawberries, loganberries and blackberries in creme fraiche. Yup, I had to look up how to spell 'fraiche', lol With regard to pests in the garden and greenhouse apart from a couple of outdoor cabbages which have had some snail / slug damage I have NO pests, not one and I don't have to use pesticides anywhere. I grow all my lettuce in hydroponic towers and they're also pest free and I'm growing them all year with no problems at all - no need for nets or any protection. In the greenhouse I'd usually be fighting against aphids / whitefly with neem oil but there's not a single leaf with a pest on. The only thing I'm doing differently from previous years is planting a few marigolds in the greenhouse and a few of the pots with tomatoes in have coils of copper wire in them (electroculture). The outdoor garden has lots of stakes with copper wire wrapped around them and I'm beginning to think that has made a difference since my father's garden (a stones throw away) is blighted by caterpillars, slugs and snails and his pepper plants are infested with whitefly - I've got none of that and all my plants are huge, producing harvest even before many people down South. The conclusion I've reached is that since the electroculture produces such a tiny micro-current in the soil it must take a while for the area to become fully protected (and plants enhanced). I should really do a video on this since it's working extremely well for me and I have been growing all sorts of crops with no problems since the electroculture rods were installed - it is a very old technology from the 1700's which produced some crazy results in France in the late 1800's and early 1900's (the unbelievable pictures of massive crops are online) but the method is much older than that and unfortunately is derided by people who don't give it time to work (e.g. 'Epic Gardening' on KZbin) and class it as 'pseudo-science'. They couldn't be more wrong.

Oh mate, you gotta stop ending up on your arse and breaking things. If it's not breaking yourself your breaking your equipment. Atleast your laughing about it. I also hope you hadn't got too much footage. It's almost like somethings trying to bump you off, so just laugh in their face my friend 😊

@@Les-OZZYTHEOSCAR When I'm walking up the river I should really be wearing waders but I usually go out in wellies so I have to try and walk on stones in the river - it's my own fault and I'm constantly getting wet feet, lol. There wasn't anything really important on the video camera but I really need a decent camera to continue making KZbin videos. However, I can't justify the expense at the present time. If KZbin is now what it was 10 years ago I'd have spent money on a new camera straight away but it's not worth it now since no matter how much effort I put into making a video on either channel they sink without a trace and only a tiny percentage of the subscribers get any new upload notifications. I'd rather be working in the garden when I get some spare time.

@@Les-OZZYTHEOSCAR Well, they may be appreciating many fewer videos in the next year or so as I've spent a fortune making videos over the last 15 years and got nothing back, lol The love of the video making process only goes so far and I'd rather be preparing for tomorrow than reporting on today.

Rod on Ebay: ebay.us/eZcHS4 A = 2.1m (7'), B = 2.4m (8'), C = 2.7m (9'), D = 3.0m (10') Rod on Amazon: geni.us/ArDzbGR Catching a few fish (including a Lord Trout) on my local river with my 7' (2.1m) back-up fly rod. At the time of this video upload the rod is cheaper on Amazon (has 30% off). The telescopic fishing rod is not an easy rod to use since the stiffness of it is quite unforgiving and it is harder to 'feel' through the rod what the fly line is doing. Consequently there are a few negative reviews on Amazon. However, if you accept that it has a fast action (as described) and use it accordingly with a faster than normal casting motion it will handle fine and catch fish (as demonstrated in this video). Thanks for watching and best of luck when you're next out fishing.

where to buy the little one where the plants put.

Do you mean the small 2" pipe? That would be bought from the same place as the 4" pipe (DIY store, Plumbing supplies store etc.). If you're asking about the small plastic baskets the plants are in then they would be bought from suppliers of hydroponics gear.

This is my favorite time of the year since I love tomatoes. We've also got a nation of spring onions and lettuce growing too so salads are definitely on the menu. With soft fruit for dessert.

My dad's grown loganberry for decades. Don't think I've ever had to remove the centre.

You can eat it but I choose not to since it diminishes from the flavour of the berry and makes processing the fruit more time consuming. However, if the fruit is picked when it is very ripe (purple) then the fruit may just slide off the woody core.

11:52 - my personal favourite part of the video - I love that you turn back then continue your thought! I also agree with the speedo on the screen showing a maximum of 19.9 MPH...I tried to test to see if it actually went faster (it CERTAINLY DOES!!!)...but even if the speedo is changed to kmh, it shows a maximum of 32 kmph - which is because I think that, to be 'legal' (over here as well) and be classified as an e-bike it cannot exceed that speed (officially)...
@ThousandYardStare
@ThousandYardStare Ай бұрын
Yes I think that makes sense and is the most logical reason for the 19.9mph limit on the screen. In the UK the 'legal' limit for an e-bike is only 15.5mph but in most other countries I think it is 20mph and while I'm not a fan of man-made laws and regulations I can kind of see the limit reason from a pedestrian protection point of view as electric bikes are very heavy compared to most normal bikes.

Sir...a note from Toronto: I just purchased one of these beasties...and it's pronounced: 'EYE-sin-wheel' (crazy name for a bike, though)...My main issue is the pedals being too close to the front fender, when pedaling through a turn...rather sketchy, that. Nevertheless - it's basically a good 'entry-level' e-bike for sure. I've been in communication with 'Isinwheel' and explained that they either need to cant the front wheel forward 1 1/2", or perhaps sell a set of 'shorter cranks'...Thanks for your video review...!

Yes, it confused me that they would produce a bike which has this problem for many riders since the industry standards for frame design and sizes must be easy to replicate given how many well functioning bikes there are on the Earth. Even after 300+ miles I've never had a problem with my foot catching the front wheel, even when turning tightly or at speed but that's because I'm so used to using the ball of my foot on pedals (my other bikes have always had small SPD pedals I click into).

To be fair after 200 miles a running service should be carried out which should involve checking and adjusting the head set and the brakes as they have now bedded in. 20mph? To be road legal it’s supposed to be limited to 15mph ish under pedal assist but you should be able to limit the speed via the display panel settings.
@ThousandYardStare

Yes, it's now got over 300 miles on the clock and since I crashed it one of the wheels is a bit bucked. While I've been able to straighten it sideways the shape of the wheel is still slightly egg-like now so I am taking it to a local bike place to repair and replace the brake pads / check all joints and make sure everything is torqued correctly etc. since I like to have a bike running sweet. With regard to the speed it came from the manufacturer limited to 15mph but that was easily changed since I'm not going to run around on a bike which isn't working to the full potential. I live in the country and most of my rides I don't even see a car on the roads let alone anyone who is going to snitch about going over 20mph, lol - in a city it's very different since there are many vehicles and pedestrians to consider.

I’ve experimented with your method of making holes and if you wear heat proof gloves you can pinch that little gap tight to your mould pipe.

Yes I use it semi-regularly to clean my greenhouse roof and also my house roof since it is very light and simple to get up there compared to a standard jet wash.
