Thank you so much for the video. Is there a 20-30 minutes long version of this video?

As a practitioner, I have read the research on EMDR. I have yet to read how this research was done using any objective evidence. The results could be attributed to wanting to believe it works. Nor have I read any studies on how EMDR affects the brain, which technique is trying to stimulate. I would be easy to demonstrate the effects of EMDR with neurofeedback. But no, no valid, objective studies. How is this technique any better than just talking to someone. NO studies. Many questions but no answers.

EMDR is supported by several mental health and research organizations, such as the World Health Organization (WHO), the American Psychological Association (APA), and the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) in the UK. These bodies recommend EMDR specifically for the treatment of PTSD due to the extensive number of clinical studies demonstrating its efficacy and safety.

I’ve tested this with some past struggles but I have a feeling I may of healed from those specific events. I tried for 3 minutes and nothing painful came up. However when I told myself how I felt in the moment when revising, I was automatically tackling the negative self talk I had at the time with positive self talk and with rationality. Still looking forward to trying this with my therapist, perhaps she’ll be better and helping me get my mind in the right place to start the therapy as the best way I can describe my feelings is I want to cry soo bad but I feel like there’s a block and it won’t shift.

Same I just did it for the first time, I don't recall ever having hypnosis but they say those who have been hypnotized are more susceptible to it.

My question what is suppose to happen? First came boredom. But stick with it. Then came why? l do not know what I am suppose to do. I know follow the light with your eyes but what. No idea what I am supose to do except get bored. Not dumping on you except in other videos that ask you do do things I can not. Visulize? Minds eye? All things that mean nothing to me. How does one fantasise? I do not have these answers. Now I will finish your video. Six minutes in my heart rate going up so will stop. Un pleaseant for me

I have a question: what's supposed to be going through my mind while I do this? because I have adhd and all I can think of while doing this is "Ok keep looking at the green dot, you're not looking at it, look at it, don't get distracted",like am I supposed to keep thinking about the trauma? or the emotion?

Just did this for the first time on my chronic pain. Is it normal that it was really hard to concentrate on both the pain, the memory of the catalyst for the pain, and the green spot? Felt like I was doing it wrong because I couldn't fully bring both sources of pain to mind whilst doing the exercise. Noticed that I did feel the tiniest sensations of tingling in my chest, almost like a cry getting ready to bubble up, but it was so faint I could have been imagining it.

I dont know if im doing this right but I will say that as I kept reliving my sexual assult, I was getting stronger. I felt the emotions of being weak and scared and I felt like sobbing in my throat and heavy heart, to the memory reminding me how my sister stood up for me, my mom got rid of him as a friend once she finally believed me, but that angered me a little but then I went to the memory where I fought him off and scared him away from me and my pain lessoned. I hope im doing this right

Wau! I recently read about EMDR and wanted to give it a shot. I was sceptical though. Thinking about the thing I most regret doing in my life. Even though it was barely illegal and even the police, said it wasnt enough to arrest me (they just gave me a warning saying " it wasnt smart, you weren't thinking clearly and we trust you won't do that again"). Due to trauma in my childhood, I've struggles with shame my whole life and which really kicked in when I did this thing a few years ago as an adult. I'm not a criminal and people I've shared this thing with all told me to chill out and forget it. But it was still somewhat stored deep in my mind. EMDR really made it easier for me to think about and forgive myself for. I'll rewatch this as it seems to help.

@spirelane11 ай бұрын
Sometimes that’s just your mind processing. Every so often go back to the original memory. But often your brain knows what connections need to be made. You could pause the video, breathe deep, and then start again.

Recently I’ve been watching emdr videos just before self hypnosis videos. Very drastic difference in how effect the hypnosis session was. Been battling addiction and losing myself to it every time. I’m just running an experiment of doing both daily before bed for 10 days. Let’s see if I can beat it. Also incorporated some cbt as well. Hope it goes well.
