I was just told about this video on the NAWCC forum. So many questions... It's a smart design, but with a poor escapement. Why wasn't it developed further, with a setting system and pallet escapement? Miniaturised into a modern watch, this would be amazing, with potentially a weeks run time. Would have been even more interesting to see this on a time grapher...

if I was wealthy I'd comminssion a new 3.5 ounce (+/-) copper or bronze hunter case for my 1885 Elgin H.H. Taylor grade 79 18S key wind/key set pocket watch. Not sure if a hunter case would be an option, though. I'd like a hunter case to protect the crystal.
