my move is quite abit more complicated. as i do not even live in canada. i am uk. canada has always been my dream place to live. and my mum grew up in Orillia in the 60's and 70's before moving to england where i have grown up.
@incogneato7903 ай бұрын
I grew up in Orillia it kinda sucked to live there as a teenager. If you have a car of your own and your parents are willing to let you drive hither and yon it might not be so bad but there isn't much for a teenager there. All the cool stuff happens in Toronto or Barrie and the GO Train and Via Rail are not options so you can feel quite isolated. I don't know if they have any inter-city busses anymore. The place is overflowing with elderly people who have retired there. If you are elderly, a sports person (hunting, fishing, skiing etc.) or not pursuing a high paying career you'll fit in. It has a small town feel because the city council deliberately keeps the town small.

Barrie has become a shit hole, over run with migrants from all over the world, plus drug addicts and hundreds of homeless, get out of Barrie if you can! Murders and attacks every week, no longer a safe city, never go to downtown after dark, you will be attacked, never a cop around when you need one

Very informative You do a great job. I’m just curious about WHY developers are building luxury condos. Where are all os us hardworking middle class folks going😢Please stop the over the top luxury ! In Oshawa, they have “80 Bond” but you go outside, it is STILL the shwa😳
@thekiwirealtor4 ай бұрын
@@twylajollymore3665 honestly from what I see, there is no incentive for developers to create “affordable” units. They can’t make money with the cost of building and development fees and the government (both local, provincial and federal) aren’t doing enough. Developers believe it or not are corporations designed to make a profit, and when it’s hard for them to do that the last thing they’re going to do is lose money making average units. Most of these “luxury” developments aren’t even luxury anymore, all of the fancy stuff is an upgraded extra cost for purchasers.

Orillia has not been able to address the crackheads downtown and homeless people. They are trying, with new housing starts, but the problems continue to plague the downtown core. Makes a lot of sense that OPP moved from downtown to West Ridge. The number of closed stores on Mississauga St is a poor optic, and I'm wondering if lease costs and/or property taxes are too high. Despite these problems, the City has a lot of positives to offer, including a very large East Indian community.

So basically orilla is what Barrie used to be 40 years ago before it got invaded by Toronto like the cancerous tumour it is.
@Ai_LeadBots6 ай бұрын
I remember Barrie when it was 48,000 people before Toronto took over . Watching these KZbin videos I am so glad I left in 1999. The fact that a house even cost 500,000 is ridiculous Barrie is a blue-collar city. With Toronto transplants. You wanna know the definition of culture I came back to visit Family a couple years ago. I went into a so-called Mexican restaurant. And served by non-Mexicans. Whenever my brain thinks it’s homesick I just go to KZbin and watch people drive around Barrie and remember I’m not missing anything. You enjoy that city and I’ll enjoy my view of the Rocky Mountains.

I keep getting ads that Orillia was expecting an expansion over the last few years. The only reason I mention it is because of the news today in Orillia. Now I know why the government was paying youtube to advertise 'citizens' move there. I wonder if I'll see or hear the ad ever again, saying how Orillia is such an amazing place to live. Is it? Any place where a stabbing takes place is nit my neighborhood. Nowhere near where I want to live.
Thank you so much pls I need your instagram handle.

Hi, this sounds amazing! Went on the website and was looking for a min income per year one would have to make to qualify but couldn't find one. I know the max is $121k but would you know of the min?
@thekiwirealtor9 ай бұрын
Hey there! The minimum income required would be dependant on your personal mortgage qualification. I would speak to a bank or mortgage broker to discuss your options. If you need a contact for a great mortgage broker please send me a txt 705-790-7001 and I can provide you with one.

@@thekiwirealtor Ok, thanks. I'm currently in SSM but am planning on applying to Lakehead at Orillia by end of this year to their one year second degree program in Social work. If my son and I stay in the area after perhaps I could finally afford to buy a home if my downpayment was taken care of. I was surprised to see how well they pay social workers in Simcoe county so finally qualifying for a mortage would probably be possible. I'm a few years ahead of myself at this point but am definitely curious about this.

Hello Sir, thank you for the video. Has the development been completed? Also is there an HOA? and it looks like the parking is very minimal (are there additional parking spots available?). Thanks. Keep up the good work!
@thekiwirealtor10 ай бұрын
@@Fskelton hey there! Yes the development has finished construction and the units are occupied. There are a few for sale at the moment. There is still landscaping, paving, the club house, playground/fire pit area etc. still to be completed, i’m assuming it will be finished this summer. It is a condominium corporation so it is managed and maintained by the corp/property management, not an HOA. In terms of parking there is just the driveway and single garage with the units, and I know of visitors parking going in. I’m don’t believe there will be extra parking for the owners.
