Saddest part is we are legit forced to shut this area down and we don't even combat it in any form. we just accept and do it. look, i know we murder hobos who put literal gods in their place....but this was written so poorly. i doubt our characters are this heartless and would have probably spent an entire expac trying to find a viable solution.

It definitely has a different feel than the more "epic" and dire sounding "final boss" themes of the last two expansions, but different does not mean worse, not by a long shot.

I honestly expected some sort of Mayan or Aztec looking city that was made of pure gold. Instead, I find it to he made of pure emotions, darn it!

Dawntrail story was not amazing. The music however… stars and beyond.

Something sad but beautiful with this song. Seeing the dungeon turn from bright and cheerful to slowly becoming a destroyed ruins is gut wrenching. With sphere and the villagers speaking in the background, it really brings the emotional drama to what is happening.

This was a great theme and a beautiful zone. And we destroyed it. The thing we were searching for this entire expansion. Don't even get me started on Wuk Lamat. Couldn't even kill the final boss without her showing up. Now my least liked expansion story below stormblood. If I ever have to speak to Wuk Lamat again. I'll probably unsub.

I like this song, why don't people like it...? :/ I mean, it's supposed to be a cheerful chorus of a nation who is content, and sounds about it.

Truly gorgeous, it's like walking back in memory line. To walk in Alexandria again is truly blissful and bittersweet closing. Makes you think where has time fly. Final Fantasy 9 will always have a special place in my heart and memories.

I love this song so much and I pretty much always cry when I hear or listen to it. The impact of the zone and story itself but thinking of loved ones and family that are no longer here makes it hit like a truck.

I think it started as a memorial to those who where lost to the war and calamity. Contrary to Ulgard Alexandria accepted every refugee into their society after the calamity. Including those from the enemy country. But their society had no knowledge of the aetherial sea. And saw souls and information as resources to be harvested. (Well, technically Hydealing does exactly the same, but that's the WoL goddess of death and rebirth, not theirs). Over time the endless became sentient with their own memories. So we pulled an Emet Selch. (I don't think you are alive theof is not murder if I kill you). I just wish that Ystolla pointed out our hipocricy. Sometimes in war there are no good solutions or good guys. As fray would say: "Do not seek forgiveness as it would not ease the burden. It weights as it should."

For a few months now on my "Manderville Godbert" alt for entertainment, and whenever I join a dungeon I play this as a hype up~ Either clothed or fully unclothed as to free the muscles for max flexibility!

It was likely an Ascian plot. Like how it was Elidibus' idea to kill Igyorhm and unleash the flood of light after tilting the world's aetheric balance wayy over into light.

FFIX was the first game I bought with my own money as a child, and it holds a special place in my heart. It ignited my lifelong love of the fantasy genre, it shaped my taste in media, it even led me into my current career in the long run. Even after all the FFIX references and revisions up to this point, seeing Alexandria Castle in all its glory appear on the Duty screen like this just hit so different. FFXIV is a celebration of the series in every sense of the word, constantly taking its favourite parts of the entire series and reshaping them into fitting into the same canon so naturally. This game is as special to me as IX was when I played through it for the first time as a child.

I like this song even if the zone and story sucked. (It's a bunch of AI constructs in the cloud, that are powered by stealing people's souls and destroying the environment of other worlds. Good thing we ended it, but there is nothing redeemable about Sphene or the Endless.)

I wish Garlemald got such a dungeon, showing their struggle, constant forced migrations further north, eventually Solus rising up and Garlemald instead taking it all woth force and than the eventual downfall. Gosh this dungeom was perfect I hope they arent done with Alexandria, pls dont start a new MSQ wiith patch content, keep it up

If the lyrics from the opening were playing at the point where Lamatyi reawakens Sphene's personality... The lyrics the exact moment before Sphene's conciousness returns would be "NO MORE RUNNING"
