So appreciative of your tutorials! I volunteered to tie dye 15 shirts for my daughter’s 2nd grade musical. I had no idea how hard it was going to be for a beginner to try to make red, white and blue tie dye designs. The colors bled and I would’ve loved to be able to get advice prior from someone like you for all the unexpected things. It amazes me how good you are at this!! You’re so talented…you make it look so effortless but it’s def not! Your videos were a life saver! Take care!

@@RiahsTieDyethe shirts turned out pretty good. Didn’t look as good as yours but better than expected. The only problem was the colors bled and turned the white areas pink.

Soda ash is a dye fixative which basically means that’s how the dye stay vibrant and bond to the fibers of the shirt. If you don’t use soda ash the dyes end up looking more like a stain.

I do use thickened dye but the shirt is bone dry when I paint on it 😊
