Thank you Connie, this is a beautifully clear demonstration of how to knit a sock on the CSM. I love the fact that you are using smaller needles to make a finer sock, which is, by the way, beautiful.

J'adore votre laine ! Où prenez-vous ces immense s cylindres de laine?

That's a whole lot of kitchener to do at the end. Generally I prefer knitting toe up to avoid it.

What’s the difference between the number cylinder,why do you need a bigger on or smaller one.

What’s the point of a demo. If there is no explanation of what is being done! Complete waste of time…

This is for those who are a little familiar with the topic. In general, everything is clear. The point is in the nuances.

OMG that is an awesome machine never seen one like it! Do they make these for has? Would you say what yarn that is, it's just gorgeous!
@ToplineStudio1002 жыл бұрын
Hi Elizabeth. These machines were very common in the early 1900's. You can make hats on this if you have a ribber and work at half pitch but most people opt for a different size of a machine more suited for hats. There are several companies now making new machines as copies of the old. I also have a Erlbacher Gearhart which is a mate to this machine - just 100 years newer. You can see it in one of my other videos. This particular yarn is hand dyed by a friend of mine. Her business is called Blue Barn Fiber and you can find her on Etsy and I'm using her base "I Knead This More". The colorway is "Hocus Pocus".

I followed this video step by step and had no problems until it was time to do the increases. After lowering the initial two needles on both sides, then one by one another 4, each time I would crank after lowering a needle the stitch would drop. Any suggestions about what I should check that I may have missed? Thanks! And thank you for posting this awesome video. It is very clear and concise.
