Over the years, my family has had 5 golden retrievers …currently on our 6th and 7th. When the time comes that we have to put down one of them because they are suffering from an incurable disease, etc…my wife has to be the one who accompanies our Golden for the last goodbye. I sit in the car crying my eyes out. I’m a big guy, and had to deal with a lot of pain in my life, but having to say goodbye to my best friend, is something I cannot do. My wife is definitely the stronger person when it comes to things like this. Only time will ease the pain.

What a wonderful cat! I've lost my companion of life the past friday and it's a constant pain since than. He was like your Oliver, he welcomend any guest, he was curious and eager to get some pet. I hope to meet him again in the afterlife. He was my joy for seven years than an heart failure took him away. I like to think that its heart is not weaker than the others, but that its burned twice as fast to give as twice the love. Sit tibi terra levis Oliver, Sit tibi terra levis Alarico.

Animals are so faithful,I have had nearly every animal going as a pet and adored every single one .my beautiful loving Labradors who lived long lives,all my cats I took in over the years, and have just taken in another stray cat who arrived as my beautiful gentle loving old stray cat was passing away,I’m weeping as I type this with my new stray on my bed,they never take the place of one who has just passed away ,but it sure helps to give your love to another,I have rabbits,birds,and fish.Nothing makes me happier than having my animals around me all day.

Oliver was met at the Rainbow Bridge by my ginger boy Gallagher who passed away December 2023. Gallagher was adopted by my daughter who travelled a lot for work. He would stay with me since I’m retired while my daughter was away. She would take him back home for a week or two before she would travel again. I finally told her that Gallagher is staying with me, I adopted him. He made my days with his sweet ways of playing with his toys and would keep me company in the kitchen. He became sick with thyroid problems and weight loss. He passed away near the Christmas tree. His urn is home with me where he’s resting on a shelf near my late husband’s urn. They certainly leave a large void in our lives.

4 months later, and random strangers on the internet like me are still looking at this video and sharing in the joy of Oliver’s life, and the sadness of his loss. So whilst Oliver is gone, his impact in the world and his memory still lives on. Sleep well, little lad. ❤

There is nothing better than cats! What a beautiful boy I lost my angel in January 30 2022, and I will never recover from that loss. He was 16 and my husband and I have never cried more. I loved everyday I had with him.

Well that's so sad and I feel for you I'm saddened to know that you didn't also take his brother because I think that would have been an actual admirable thing I don't know how you could take one and leave the other maybe next time you'll be wiser and get both siblings sorry for your kitty loss
