Hey Kenny - FYI - I hope you realize that the footage of the band you are showing @ the beginning of this clip features the EQUALLY Legendary DANNY WEIS on GUITAR - NOT STEVE HUNTER - who was still with MITCH RYDER @ time. The footage is from Paris show - the other artists in it are of the Magnificent MICHAEL FONFARA on Keyboards, the Sensational PRAKASH JOHN on Bass, and The AWESOME "WHITEY" PENTI GLAN on Drums! Rock History factcheck - got it? Nice job tho. Rock & Roll.
@KennysClassics21 күн бұрын
Thanks Sheri for the info...I searched and searched for Lou Reed's live performances in that 1973 and 1974 time period, performing songs from Rock and Roll Animal.This Paris show was the only one I could find where they were doing the high energy version of Sweet Jane. I guess I never really paid to much attention to the guitar player in this video since, Danny and Steve both had similar hair at the time. I figured it was Steve without his glasses and he had grown a mustache. Oh well my bad, but like I said not many videos of them in that time period. But the point of the intro clip I put in my video was because there were many people I know who had never seen or heard Lou Reed and his band. Plus, I figured it was about time someone paid tribute to Hunter and Wagner's performance, which I did my best to recreate with my video... Thanks again!

@@KennysClassics Would you ever consider doing a cover of Green Grass and High Tides? I know your subscribers would be blown away like I was when I saw your video paying homage to Lou Reed's Sweet Jane. Love your work, bro, thanks for sharing your talent here!

@@johnviera4785, Hi John, sorry for the delay in my response but a had about 300 emails to go through in the last couple of weeks. But in regards to your question, I am familiar with that tune by the Outlaws, and I even met the guitar player in that band , Freddie Salem, back in the early 80's down in North Carolina, when I was touring around the country in my band back then. However, that tune and that band were more in the southern rock genre, like Lynyrd Skynyrd was. You can tell by the long jams they did like Skynyrd playing Freebird, so was Green Grass and High Tides, as similar. I try to stay away from really long jam songs because my audience online lose interest after a few minutes of a really long solo. So I try to stick with really popular hits from the past that are no more than 3-5 minutes in length. But I understand, it is a jamming song... Thanks for the suggestion!

Hi, Kenny. Thank you for the new video. You certainly do Larry Carlton’s fine work on the original proud! Especially that opening lead segment. Wow! “Royal Scam” is a sadly underrated SD album, in my opinion. I think Becker and Fagan were trying to transition away from their earlier pop-ish sound toward the brilliant jazz-influenced “Aja.” Anyway, every SD album has its own unique beauty, and “Don’t Take Me Alive” is one of my favorites from RS, so thank you for covering it. I subscribed to your channel about a year ago and I’m sorry to see that you haven’t grown much. I don’t think the YT algorithm is serving you well: I see you have put a few more videos out that I don’t think ever showed up on my recommended selections. I have no idea how that whole system works, but it reminds me that I need to specifically check my subscriptions occasionally for releases that otherwise fly under the radar. Anyway, thank you again for this video; I look forward to seeing more from you and let’s hope YT helps spread your material so your channel will grow!

Not sure what to do about it, but it is something that I have to look into. Just a question when they did the drum march did they go through the crowd or did they just walk in from backstage? Last time I went (2022) they didn't walk through the crowd but usually they do
@KennysClassics8 ай бұрын
At this particular concert, I believe they did march in from the back. However we have been to so many of their concerts that I am not 100% sure, because I do remember one where they just came out from the side of the stage...

Thanks bud! Really appreciate your comments. I see you also appreciate this outstanding duo guitar solo of all time, by Hunter and Wagner.
