Resonance in the right hands can sound amazing. I always use it on the leads. It only deends on which sound you are working in. Be very careful with it, yes, but don't be afraid to turn it up either, if it feels amazing.

Thanks for the tips. I've been using Tremolator for years, and am a huge fan of SoundToy products. But I've learned a few "new things" here. So Thanks.I will use it more often now. then I've been in the past.

This is a super helpful video. I've been occasionally referencing and wondering about referencing for a long time, and this goes a long way to explaining what we're aiming for. The thing I'm still unclear on after all this research is: if everyone's always referencing, aren't we just regressing to the mean? Didn't some mixing engineer have to figure out a good balance the we're all now checking against?

After watching this I got the best paralell compresison result i think I have ever got in mastering, thank you. I noticed you were going to mention something about the sidechain section but didn't in the end. Is that in a later video from a series or something?
