I've watched hundreds and hundreds of Ableton tutorials over the last decade. This is easily one of the very best Ableton tutorials I've ever seen. The instructor is awesome and gives detailed explanations with easy-to-follow steps. Brilliant.

This is a really helpful tutorial even for an absolute beginner like me. I have a question at about 15 minutes in, after adding the snares into the sampler. Right before mapping the snare selector to one of the macros, he grouped it into an instrument rack and on the screen the instrument rack appeared after a click. This allowed him to map the snare selector to one of the macros within a new instrument rack rather than using the top level macros. For those of us who are new and unfamiliar with how to group into an instrument rack can someone please explain. Thanks in advanced.

I'm currently 26 minutes in (And thoroughly enjoying this )but I thought I would pause it to say although Ableton is my DAW of choice (has been since version 4) there is one thing about it that I STILL have not been able to do. When I have a finished set of drum options for example that I set up with a midi controller (Unless I save the whole project which means I cannot use the saved Drum Rack in another project) the link to the midi controller is severed! It got me wondering, with your far more in-depth knowledge than mine, have you ever found a way to circumnavigate this problem?

hello, late comment : i wonder if when you change say your decay, it will affect ONLY one drum sample e.g one of your drumkicks or will it affect all the samples that you've put in ? in other words, if i change the decay, will it change the decay for all my samples that i've put in the sampler ? thank you
