I believe the alternator wire is the excite wire for the alternator, is not needed i usually cut it and tick it in the harness or remove it entirely, i just use the excite wire from the pcm, the guage just needs to see any 12v and it reads the voltage and it gets that elsewhere in the harness its not the wire in the bulkhead

Great video, thanks. 2 quick questions: You mentioned keeping some of the incandescent lights - is there a reason you didn't go all led? Is there a way to know which direction the leds plug in without the trial and error? If I even look at my cluster the wrong way, Im afraid it will turn to powder. The less I have to handle it the better. Thank you!

Man, the fittings for the 4l60e I got come with o rings and crush washers. Not sure to use both or just crush or just o ring. I have just o ring right now I'll see if it holds.

What length is you transmission line like they got 52 inch and 70 inch I was told to use ptfe so that’s what I’m using I used the same setup that you have right there on my power steering setup because my power steering lines were leaking right at the crimps of course of the factory hose so I replaced them with an-6 swivel hose like you just installed but I was just curious as to what size hose you used as in length because I have a choice of 52 inch and 70 inch and obviously I don’t wanna get to short to long I can cut off and make new end but to short is a pain in the neck to have to add longer hose

I just got this sending unit and nothing lines up. If I got the two tabs where they should go the vent aims at the grind drivers side and fuel lines point at the passenger rear… If I spin it so only one tab fits it’s very close but the vent tube is just a bit off… Can anyone give me any advice? Should I just send the pump back and not go this route

I appreciate the content. I am in the process of rewiring my 76 with the speedway 22 circuit kit. But it doesn’t have a dedicated reverse light wire. It does have a third break light wire but I’m not sure if I can use that to plug in to the neutral switch for my reverse lights

Something aint adding up here. one hose is O-ring style (pressure) and other hose is inverted flare (return)... The straight end hose for return shouldve been correct

I live in sunshine, heatwave Arizona and I had to buy a new clear lens cover for my 79 C30 crewcab dually. What I'm worried about is trying to clean the dirt and dust off of the actual guage faces. The sun took its toll on them. I'm afraid that the paint will smear all over. Do you have any idea or suggestions for me to try? Thanks. Oh, yours turned out great. Looks real nice.

What about the bracket to hold the fuel filter? Where did you get that or do you have a part #?

Just wrap with electrical tape and use the cable cutters and squeeze hard enough without cutting through to curl the braid inward and roll the cutters around the hose so it’s curled in then use cut off wheel on the groove that was made. Unwrap the tape carefully and install fitting. It takes about 2 minutes per fitting.
