Always rebuild your cases. It's very easy and gives you piece of mind. Replace the chain if necessary.... Do the work yourself. Its simple

Do you know if the gauge cluster changed a lot over the years and if so which one is best to use? It sure sucks when you take someone at their word but you are doing the right thing not saying who it is, they will loose more than you will spend.

The best one for LS Swap is the 90-91 Suburban or Blazer. That's the one I'm goin with because it's a good budget cluster.

What rear driveshaft did you use
@1980LSK56 жыл бұрын
I used the stock driveshaft yoke from the NP205 and had a shaft built at a driveline shop.

Heartbreaker! Man that SUCKS! Way to keep powering ahead, though. I can relate (on a smaller scale). Having problems with my motor mounts. Thanks for all of your videos!

Today only comes once a year, might as well start a new chapter. Take a breath, focus, reevaluate and keep going. You know sitting in that seat will feel like a throne on Mount Olympus, all these difficulties along the way will make that drive, that much sweeter. You're a stronger guy than most of us, very respectable not trashing that dude like you have every right to. You'll get there man, don't give up. Looking forward to your next video.

Can you please be more specific on the radiator info year make model or part number ?? Thanks a lot on all the info
@1980LSK56 жыл бұрын
Hey that radiator that I'm running is the one that was in it when I bought the K5. I don't believe you can buy one like that anymore because it's the Brass/Copper style radiator. The only ones I'm seeing these days are plastic reservoirs with aluminum core. The one I have I believe is from a 77-80 k20 and was put in by the previous owner. It is a 3 core and is heavy duty. I did have to buy the wider rubber mounts for top and bottom in order to get it all to fit correctly because it still had the stock rubber that was just kind of mashed down on it. Sorry I don't have a part number or brand because this is actually an OE part. Good luck in your search. You may try to look up one for a truck that had the 454/400 combo

Also, why did you have to cut your driveshaft?
@1980LSK56 жыл бұрын
The 4l60 and NP241C combo are back a little from where the th350 and np205 were at and so I trimmed a little off. When I had the driveline built for the old combo, I had it made a little long because I intended to put a lift on it. Now that the LS swap setup is in it I needed to take that extra back off even with a 4" lift.

1980 LS K5 Oh ok. I had a 350 and 700R4 setup. Don't think I'll have to cut or move anything. Also, I DO have the W style crossmember so I'm hoping it will all work out. Thanks again for the reply.

Sorry to hear this. I've had a couple of people i have run across doing my LS swap that offer services that I end up warning other people away from when possible so I understand completely. Sometimes you just gotta bite the bullet and pay to play though unfortunately, lol. It just sucks when you pay twice.

It's just a glancing blow in life when you look at the big picture. Don't be shy in using the assholes name anyway, it will warn others not to allow this clown to hurt others. You'd be doing others a big favor in there money clip. At least now you'll know what you got and you can drive it like you stoled it!!! The cat looked happy! "w.w."

I've got Instagram but it's usually a mix of nonsense and not always truck, blazer or burb content. I'm still new to it lol 1980_ls_k5
