Why are we so fixed with the East India Company?? There was a hundred years of the British Rule after the rule of East India Company ended. Please concentrate more on the good that The Crown did to us. The schools, colleges, universities, roads, railways, telegraph, full cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Calcutta, Chennai, Cochin, Dacca, Peshawar, Lahore, Jhansi, the airstrips, the ports, the army. Do you know how much these costs in todays price?? Why is this British man not highlighting the good that the British have done to India?? Or is it that badmouthing the British helps him sell more of his books??

If the mughals were as ruthless as the BJP depicts....India could not have remained a hindu majority country. The bankers in India were always Hindus and Rajputs their military commanders. Its the peasants who felt the might of the power and Hindu caste system which forced the lower classes to convert to Islam.

This is just an academic exercise, not genuine in its intent given Pakistan and Pakistanis continued animosity and nefarious behavior towards India and Hindus. Unless Muslims of those times and today transform and become more accommodating of other cultures and religions, as Hindus and Indians are, this isn’t an authentic theory

I read somewhere - “From the dawn of history, India has always been invaded. The invader never won. But, India always lost”! The list of Jagat Seths, Mudaliars and Chettiars of Tamil Nadu, Mir Jaffers, Mir Sadiqs is endless. India was betrayed by its own people every time. I feel the main reason is the caste system, where every caste looked out for itself. Which is true today too. Remember, the majority of “lower” castes were not allowed to bear arms. That said, nobody really thought about India as a country. That concept wasn’t even there.

Where do you think, Mir Jaffer, Mir Sadiq, Mir Kashem etc. fitted in the Caste system? These has nothing to do with caste system, it's to do with the greed of power, personal hatred to the ruler and greed of wealth and money. Greed always wins over literally anything including caste and all.

Couldn’t go thru the whole video. Akbar was a moderate. Most Moghuls were not. India’s GDP was high even before the Mughals. Unlike the British, Moghuls’ didn’t move the money out and they did reinvest. Bharat was always united as a culture. Bharatvarsh extended beyond the current boundaries. Yes, kingdoms existed kind of like states today with greater autonomy. There was infighting between the kingdoms much like in Europe today.

13:58 Churchill was not a controversial figure! Simply put, he was a genocidal maniac, just like Hitler. Look up how historians describes Hitler! According to BBC "Churchill certainly believed in racial hierarchies and eugenics, says John Charmley, author of Churchill: The End of Glory. In Churchill's view, white protestant Christians were at the top, above white Catholics, while Indians were higher than Africans, he adds. "Churchill saw himself and Britain as being the winners in a social Darwinian hierarchy."

Writers like him are found a dime a dozen. And he needs to realize that you can fool people sometimes not all the time.

Feel very blessed as an Indian today that all the Muslims who despised India and chased a Turkik/Arabic/Persian/Pathan identity packed their bags and left for their very own nation. It was bloody and tragic, but a price well and truly paid a long long time ago. Good luck to them in their country we are happy with ours Thank you.

What is the problem with a Turkic/Arabic identity? It was the British who divided Indians along these identities and people like you fell for it easily. The British loved Indians like you who played into their hands.

The Mughals destroyed much of the Indian economy, which was thriving throughout known history, according to Angus Madison. Crushing and humiliating religious Jizya tax on most of the population reduced the prosperous regions to utter emaciating poverty. Records indicate that Hindus were even prohibited from wearing good clothes or any religious festivities and even from mourning for the dead. It is pathetic to mischaracterize the destructive forces as uniting India.

@@ruthnaswamy4741 India's share of world GDP was more than one third of world GDP for most of history, until the barbaric Mughal invasions reduced it to a quarter of world GDP. Chinese GDP, which was second best became higher than Indian GDP, except for a short period during Akbar, when they coincidentally fared worse. No credit to Akbar for that.
