Does PVCC have the goal of placing grads into 4 year programs? How does that work? How attractive is college club at a university to your grads?
@coachcameron5 күн бұрын
Yes PVCC does a great job of placing players to the next level. Far as Phx college is concerned we have student athletes all year over the country playing currently at Gonzaga, Seattle U, Utah Tech, Oregon Tech, and many others

Ive seen 3 academy players u15 leave there local clubs with there dads coaching to reach academy level, just to wear the logo smh! I say that because 2 out of the 3 who i try to follow ride the bench or my son is catching up to there level all on his own by playing more and sharpening the basics, 1v1's and chasing those minutes! Go get your minutes somewhere!! Some of these academy players that we think made it are being parked on academy benches, at least they look good on social media with pictures, not game changing highlights or smart plays, pictures!!!😅

What line up do you use for 7v7? For example 3/3 -3-2-1 etc? What is your main focus in 7v7?

You saying they can develop the players there because they have the talent, and the coaches? Play station coaches?

I don't know how American soccer for children is organized. How many miles do you travel for games for children under 9 to under 13? Is it organized by state?

Most kids are not going to D1 or a PDL. But if you do your job right, they will still be paying soccer well into old age, with friends from countless teams and with an attitude of fitness for life. But the only way to do that is to gift the youth a love for the game.

Daughter is in ECNL team and also ODP 2011G, ECNL requirement for hotels that are extremely expensive is outrageous! It’s not about player development anymore or the best of the best competing. It’s about the money, pay to play mentality. There will be many great players who will be left out because they can’t afford these outrageous hotels or travel. What’s the solution of competing with the best without losing an arm, leg, or selling one of your kids to support another. Lmao crazy.

Good stuff, watching them melt away within 48 hours felt so good, and yes, I used what I mentioned the other day. It actually took a bit more to make them totally disappear, I just go’ogled Melissa Thanderski and days after I still can't believe the comfort.

Our regionals in California. We live in Jacksonville Florida . It 6000$!!!! Going to tell them we can’t go unless the club pays, he scores most of their goals so there’s a chance. Another parent may take him with them hopefully

“State cup isn’t real, regionals and nationals aren’t real.” 2 state cups is a joke, the division in our state IS REAL. No real way to dictate who is the strongest in their respective age groups when teams are spread thin between open leagues of ASA and Alliance, GA, ECNL, ECRL, MLS, EA, E64, etc. It’s honestly ridiculous

Our kids pay less then 100$ a year and we still sign almost every single kid. Im on the border and playing up is easy here logistically. It blows me away how much this costs you all.

My son’s team, the 90 Cisco Toros won regionals in Hawaii in 2008. Back when it meant something. Only two parents went with the team. The rest of us couldn’t afford it.

Ridiculous. Soccer-wise, kids are better off spending money on a rebounder and training in their backyard for a week than going to Hawaii to play a few games.

My daughter is a ECNL national- the amount of money we spend is insane and to be honest most of the girls aren't even "ELITE" we finally pulled the trigger and quit. The problem is the parents are competing more than the kids... It's so TOXIC it's almost like a cult....

I’ve listened to you for years now. Curious about coach during games. From the coaches perspective, it seemed like more of a hands off approach other than halftime. For example; say your back line isn’t closing the gap between them and the midfielders. Would you address that in the game or wait til half?
@tommymavtvsports76963 ай бұрын
This is good if you can. Not many girls can. I see this a lot, with girls playing up and with boys. At times, it can destroy their confidence. If your daughter has a brother or cousins, play pick up or small games with them. Mia hamm playing 30 years ago is not the same as trying to play with boys who are maximizing training and year round soccer today. Putting a girl in can destroy their confidence. You have to have the speed so when their younger it's fine but once puberty hits its not only dangerous to their development but its dangerous in general. The physicality of bigger faster boys is also a huge injury risk. While I agree it can be helpful to a degree the bad may outweigh the good if you are not good enough. Less touches, flow of game my be out of rhythm in contrast to teammates and a huge problem in terms of the positions you can play l8r
@gradyponce143 ай бұрын
Daughter 2011 ECNL Florida, ODP 2011 and I agree. Soccer has gone down and it is not what all the hype is about. Expenses are high for having this old school mentality of doing 1-2 touches versus the actual development of being able to challenge players. Let’s do 1k touches to score versus let’s connect a few good touches and move the ball forward to score. The attacking mentality is not existent.
@superplexia38513 ай бұрын
It’s pretty constant. Thing that bothers me the most is willing/yelling at the players to be aggressive. Spinal checks are laughed off and encouraged. Crowd getting into it like mma.

although I understand I'm adding anxiety, I have seen improvement from my son when telling him to pressure, or to look up in a game and if my sons coach doesn't say it I feel the need to do it myself. I'm a dad with a son in u9. Any feedback from you would be great.
@TurtleFootMining4 ай бұрын
Mine has been in club since u6 he is now u15. Trust me when i say this, you just need to cheer him and not tell him what to do. Telling your son to pressure doesn’t do anything but mentally drain them. Especially when they get older. Don’t make the mistake I did because now even when i cheer for my son he thinks I’m telling him what to do. He even tells me he can focus more when i just cheer him on instead of coaching him and getting him more anxious. 💯
I’ve played for and coached with Dave. We agree on the parents not coaching on the sideline. Cheering is one thing, coaching is another. If you coach from the sideline now, your kid will listen to you instead of the coach who may have a completely different strategy. Dave posted some KZbin videos, I recommend watching them.
