As far as animals... i have a cat. She jumps on passenger seat and plays without any issues. The camera is off when parked so the cat on dash dpesnt affect it. I have pet her while driving... no issues.

I’ve seen jb hunt trucks and fedex trucks with the inward and outward facing cameras just to name two companies. All trucking companies will have cameras eventually

No amount of “safety”/spying equipment is going to keep me profitable. Keeping the truck loaded does. Lately, y’all drop the ball every weekend with no loads available. Fix your problem before you create another with this nonsense.

I haven’t driven a semi in over 10 years. Never let my class a CDL expire or anything like that. Would I still be required to go through all the schooling or would I ride with a trainer for a refresher? Pretty sure I already know the answer but each company is different. Thank you.

Man I left at a perfect time. Way to say you don’t trust your drivers by saying hey let’s install driver facing cameras then being Monday Quarterbacking by safety people that majority of them never driven a semi truck a day in their life. Just cause I love my country doesn’t mean I trust my government same applies just because I love my career/job as a trucker doesn’t mean I trust the company I work for.

How about this. Why dont u guys install cameras inside of your office work area? Same technology as the one u want for truck drivers. And that way truckers can also hear what u guys are doing, saying, eating, etc. I think its a fair trade.

I am not totally against cameras in the truck as I have my own outward and inward if and when I start training again, I will definitely have one in the truck because my number one issue with Students is cell phone use and accountability. I’ve had multiple students watching video While driving just to get them off of my truck and shuffle them onto another. And my opinion, they should be let go because sooner or later that is going to cause a reportable accident

@primeinctrucking They claim the camera watches the driver's eyes for distracted driving, ie looking away from the road, and alerts the driver should it feel the driver is not paying attention. Will the AI be able to handle a driver who wears sunglasses that blocks the AI's ability to see the eyes?

I was visiting Prime the other week with a friend that works in office there, swear I saw this truck there. I think it’s very cool of Prime to allow drivers to customize their trucks. Best one I’ve seen yet is called Trash Panda Express, as raccoons are so cool and devious to me.

Safety needs to address what the false critical events will trigger on the camera. I get 4 to 5 almost everyday twice a day at the same spots. 3 are from tree limbs on the fog line on curves. 1 is from an overpass shadow and 1 sometimes from a sign that leans toward the road. Plus numerous collision warnings when nothing is there.
