That’s for the freightliner. On the Volvos and internationals they use a tube with a ball inside of it for the fuel gage and the Volvos are very accurate on the gallon as their gage says exactly how many gallons they have.

my 2019 freightliner when the fuel light comes on i still have about 60 gallons of fuel left. when the fuel gauge reads bone dry empty i still have about 50 gallons left in the tanks. from bone dry E to full is only 150 gallons at the pump and i have 2 100 gallon tanks so don't know what my fuel meter is doing lol. i just know that when the gauge is empty i still have about 50 left but when calculating when to refuel i count it as 40 gallons to be safe.
