Got the same, so sorry but my experience is: worst useless gadget at all. Have tried several times with useless results so I am going to get rid of this gadget (surprised though - since it had some good reviews based on which I bought it)

Unfortunately it worked for brake fluid preplacement as well servis check date.. but did NOT work for (after replacement) resetting warning light for front brake pads replacement at all. It does offer reset, it performs reset but at the end "reset not performed". Tried several times with same result, so I am a bit sad :-( Anyone can help? THX. (By the way, not enough bad luck: my bimmercode-SW which I got full version now stopped working too, so I need to write to the manufacturer of bimmercode)

Just watched your video - thanks for sharing your experience. Saving up some cash for an entry sports car, was thinking the obvious 911 but now swaying towards a Vantage. They are beautiful and seem to be pretty damned rock solid (apart from what you've pointed out). Chuckled when you said I don't just replace my car like all these f*cking KZbinrs 😅😅😅. Paul UK.

First thing is lower the glass so the panel comes off easier, then the pull strap, then the panel. Obviously the glass needs to go back up to access the garnish panel.

There is -35c and got this battery discharging while stopped error. I replace battery to motobatt 25ah and it works oneday and then got same error. I think those vechiles not made below -30c temperatures.

Hi everyone. I just changed my i3 battery today with one from my UK BMW dealer. It cost £97. I decided to buy the OEM so that all the fittings transferred ok which they did. As per the video the High Voltage connector was a little fiddly but doable. It opens easy just pull the red tab up and wiggle and move it back and up it pops. Getting it down like on the video was a little more problematic until I inserted a small screw driver blade into the slot on the side which then with a wiggle and a push down while pulling back on the red tab it just slides down. So don't stress just do as described and you will be fine. You will also need 2 different TORX sockets to remove the plastic Frunk. 4 bolts are x T25 TORK star key hex + 2 bolts are T30 The positive terminal on the UK model is a pain to get too as its close to the power connectors above so I had to use a small 10mm spanner. Ideally get a small 10mm hand spanner /ratchet. Just loosen it a little and it slips off. The negative was much easier to access and the bolt is on the top. It slid off easy. Getting the negative clamp re tightened when putting it all back together I had a problem with it not tightening. BMW obviously have made something simple harder than it needs to be :-) Anyway there's a little piece that moves and is located as part of the connector just under the bottom of the terminal connector which waggled about so I held this up with my finger then the bolt started to tighten ..phew. Apart from all this I decided before starting the swap to put the car in the garage overnight, open the hood, leave the car unlocked and fully charged and let the computers go to sleep. Next morning I disconnected the HV and swapped the battery. Once swapped the car came back to life with zero errors. I think most problems people face are due to the computers not being shut down gracefully which is hard to do if the battery fails. However if your swapping before failure just make sure they are all shut down before disconnecting the HV. Leave the car at least 30mins with the hood open before starting the job and you will be fine. The battery is not that heavy and in real life and quite small for a car battery thus easy to get in and out with a little moving sideways of some cables and rubber pipes (UK side) . There are no big issues removing the battery just take your time and move any cables out of the way and it comes out ok. You do not need to register the battery for the car to work. However as I had already purchased the Bimmer Link phone app and an OBD connector I reset the battery from the app. Plug the ODB connector into the socket under the centre dash on the RHS near the steering wheel (UK) then open the Bimmer Link app on your phone, connect via bluetooth to the ODB then turn the car on aux mode (radio on etc.) connect to the car and select battery. There's an option to register a new one which with one click does so and records the vehicle mileage. I also checked the vehicles error history while using the app. Yes there was 2 small errors that are not critical re the 12v battery which I guess is because it was removed. I just deleted these from the app. However prior to all this messing with the ODB and the Bimmer link app the car was just fine and these two little error codes were not displayed on the car display so don't worry if you don't have the App or OBD. :-) Just take your time have the correct T27 TORX sockets to transfer the brass battery post adaptors and a small 10mm spanner / 10mm socket with at least a 6" reach bar to get to the bolts holding the bracket. This is perfectly doable with these tools but if you do not have the tools described above don't start the job until you do.
