Look at the monolithic Sage wall in Montana, and the strange rocks in Cypress hills Saskatchewan, and then look at this pyramid here, yea, it's a pyramid.

We did glissading on Outward Bound summer 1971. But we did it down fairly steep slopes standing up and not down snow, but down rock fields called scree.
@leeroycastillo291211 ай бұрын
That looks like a pyramid that was reclaimed by the forest surrounding it because ppl just up and left and no longer kept maintenance on it. Its reminds me of the pyramid outside of Mexico city Teotihuacan that was abandoned then rediscoverd but was completely covered in trees and grass, it was cleared of foliage and bam there was a huge sophisticated man made pyramid made by an ancient civilization.

Kicking the feet in can cause you to flip if your going too fast!

exactly 👍🏽 very dangerous

Yeah, no idea from where that comes from. Especially that you'll be using crampons with axe more often than not...
@nkd30476 ай бұрын
@@SzeruI think this is geared toward glissading, which is intentional and shouldn’t be done w crampons. if you’re glissading so fast you can’t arrest without flipping you might want to slow down

I just watched a video of two dirt bikes riding up to the peak and it doesn't show any evidence of being a volcano. The entire thing appears to be made of loose rock and dirt. Are you saying it's a volcano because you were told it's a volcano? Has there been an archeological survey? Mahalo

Nope, the crater is in a constant state of change. Rockslides are pretty common, this just happened to be a big one.

It is a cinder cone. You are wrong. It is not a volcano.

@@daphnekivinen9482 most definitely a pyramid. Very clear by looking at lidar. I will consult with a high value geologist. But we've done preliminary research and it's showing great celestial alignments, local tribal legends and ceremonies, as well as ancient elongated skulls locally found. Seems as though there is a very nice break down of the elements of tum tum as well and it's abnormal.

@@tlatoanimachi I worked at the USFS just across from the field where this mountain is found. It is called Tum Tum Mountain. It is NOT a volcano. Many geologists in our area agree with me.

One of the best Books I have read recently. I am professionally an environmentalist. And Dave Johnston (Dr. David Alexander Johnston, Volcanologist) always had a huge impact on me from my childhood. To tell the inconvenient truth to save those who try not to hear it. And to put his life in line for them? That is a true hero !!!!

You should probably be telling people to kick their knees in so they don't get in the habit of self arresting with their feet. This will break their ankles if they need to self arrest while climbing with crampons.
@lukeswofford4282 жыл бұрын
You shouldn’t be glissading in crampons anyway if you catch the snow you will break an ankle

It's really just too bad that everything planned for the 40th anniversary of the eruption is being cancelled because of COVID-19... :( (...Also, Rest In Peace Harry Truman and David Johnston... I hope that one day, some archeological expedition will find their remains as well as the remains of Spirit Lake Lodge...)
