Andrew Brannen, Dinkheller's killer. Was a Vietnam vet with intense PTSD after watching his commander get blown to pieces by a land mine. At the time of this traffic stop he had been unmedicated for 5 days after running out of the medication that kept his condition bearable. It is presumed he was attempting to commit suicide by cop as none of his shots hit Dinkheller, until, Brannen had been hit in return. Put this money towards treating these people, not making video games to manufacture killer cops. Rest in Piece Mr. Dinkheller.

I think it’s the difference in training. This was a similar attack in the Dallas shooting. In both attacks you can clearly see the difference in training. Military training requires you to advance and move around. Police training requires to hunker down, be defensive and wait for your target. It’s just the style of training is more effective than the other

Oh something else. If I see one more time training videos with taking 'cover' behind the police vehicle I'm gonna die laughing. Cover behind a vehicle you can take against a Glock. Not against an M1. If you have the Glock in such encounter and want to live 1. Draw first 2. Be close to your target

If you feckers THINK 1 vs 1 better tactics would sort that out, Brannan was wielding a high powered M1 ( weapon of choice in Nam 69-71 ), was a spear point combat veteran and was going against a single 22yo with a service pistol. He had to follow him gun pointed to his car and do not allow Brannan to his rifle. Shoot him when he pulls it from under the chair. Dinkheller created distance instead for a military expert marksman to have a 1v1 with him. That was fatally wrong, he was horribly out gunned and out matched.

Am I the only one who noticed in the fake scenario, "Brennan" still had the officer dead to rights by shooting over his truck bed at the cop? I swear to God, unless theres a reliable way for an officer to rapidly get to his rifle, the officer is always going to be out done if the same encounter develops.

@BelieverOfChrist2 Yes. I think LEOs need to be able to carry and get to carbines much faster in order to level the playing field. Plus if you go back to watch the video this is based on, Brennan had a lot more advantages then I realized, and this video showcased the relative cover and positioning he was operating from.

@@H_O_R_S_I_Ethe last thing our country needs is more cops playing gi Joe. There's enough cops walking around armed to the teeth as it is. If you told someone 40 years ago it would be this way, they would say we live in a police state
@H_O_R_S_I_E
@H_O_R_S_I_E 9 ай бұрын
@@johnherbert1431 I think there's a two pronged problem to this: if police officers are continually positioned as being morally disposable, and not people, then there's effective grounds to continue qualified immunity on their behalf. And if they're disposable, and we don't value them, what surrogate force would we trust to take on a cracked veteran whose killing people, or is a threat to public safety? We can't say a "militia" when that same group of people wouldn't be interested in any judicial or constitutional process, largely, because they would be susceptible to admiring the carnage that could be caused. I may not like the legal powers that the police have, but if it means granting them parity to survive an attack by a criminal whose breaking the law, carbine style service weapons level the playing field. My only gripe is that what a cop owns, a citizen should be allowed to own, and vice versa.

If you watch the whole video - when Brannan got out unarmed, Dinkheller was very near him, 2 meters from his car with a baton pulled I think ? That's when a gun draw and warning at gunpoint from 2 meters would have saved Dinkheller easily. And if Brennan goes for his rifle - magdump from 2 meters. This could have been a slaughter the other way *if only* Dinkheller took him seriously ( should have, he was already shouted at he is facing a Nam combat veteran ) And if he did not retreat. It's so sad for both really.

my question is, why not just stop giving out guns to literally everyone, and take normal citizens guns away, make getting a permit actually hard and a requirement to work in goverment contract to own a firearm, maybe then there will be less dead officers, less school shootings, etc.

Yes because criminals are going to apply for a permit for a gun.

Because that wouldn't work at this point in America, aside from the fact we have more legally known guns in the US than people, that's not accounting for millions of unregistered and untraceable weapons. Aside from that, the realistic answer is give everyone a gun. It sounds idiotic but in all actuality, one if not the only US place to have done it had a massive decrease in crime when they added a "One gun per household law", or at least one gun. Plus, states that have added constitutional carry laws have shown drops in violent crime in most of their bigger cities if not all. The issue will never and physically can't be the guns, it will always be the people telling the guns to fire.

Simple solution, the cop shouldn't have made a big seen out of it, it was just a speeding ticket. They should have let him go because they already had his license plates number. They could have went later to his house and pick him up.
