I’m jealous of you.. I could’ve gotten into Harvard or Yale or sum but I was mentally unwell during school so I stopped trying . Fml . The fact that we are judged based on our grades from 14 YEARS OLD is wild.. I am highly intelligent and deserve to be in there. Ugh 😑 🥲

I've heard this advice in bits and pieces here and there as I'm trying to learn how to utilize my ADHD. Thank you for putting it all together. At the very least, this video validates all the stuff I've been doing just to try and cope with my life (I've only been diagnosed recently. I'm almost 40). I really appreciate it, thank you.

It’s not for everyone! You might be better off with white noise or earplugs. The goal is to have sound going so that other noises (eg people rustling their books) don’t distract you intermittently

I just recently became aware that I have ADHD. I struggled w/ severe anxiety so long, and then I found ways and methods to help manage it better. Then one day I don’t remember how I became aware, or what I was doing. It just hit me that I had ADHD!! I knew my son had it, but I never paid attention to his behavior were also my own behavior as well. My son is 13, but extremely smart. I was talking to him after realizing I have the same behavior as he does. The impulsive responses to things, constantly unable to focus on one thing, unable to concentrate, or process things. He immediately said, Dad I know. His response was like, Yeah. I know. I’m like how did you know? He responded you act like me. I’ve never been tested for severe anxiety as a kid, never heard anyone speak of that before until I became an adult and got hospitalized for hypertension and severe anxiety. Yes, it had gotten that bad. The ADHD, I heard about as I got older, but it never crossed my mind that I had it. I knew I had problems learning, but didn’t understand why. I knew I also processed things differently than others people, which I thought was a good thing, because it made me very conscious and observant. When I realized I had ADHD it really helped put a lot of things in perspective for me. It allowed me to understand myself better, and know that I’m not alone, and I’m different, but also very intelligent. Thank you for all the tips and methods.

I've got some tips! (OBV THESE WON'T WORK FOR EVERYONE they are just general but they are helpful) for exams: - eat before the test, drink something with sugar (that won't make you crash), and eat something like a sandwich. - SLEEP THE NIGHT BEFORE THE TEST (you will forget everything in the test if you stay up all night because your brain is T I R E D). OP mentioned academic support - get this! you can get smaller exam rooms and better times to take tests (a lot of mine were in the afternoon / night). DURING THE SEMESTER: - flashcards! flashcards for 5-10 minutes every day! change them up if you need to! incorporate new ones as you learn more! - at the end of every class, [write down as much as you can remember]. i promise you it will help with your [short term recall] - study the things you just learned in class EVERY WEEK, preferably every 2-3 days (so you're studying that week's topics and info 2-3 times) - when studying, write down questions you want to ask yourself and then ask them out loud (ie if you're studying ancient history, something like "When did and what caused the blah blah era to end?")

Great video! But I need someone to help me with more problems, please. I study architecture and it requires very very much work that most of my colleagues work all day and even sleep like 4 hours every day to complete all the assignments. I really suffer from ADHD because I can't work that much and I fail to do many of my assignments and that makes me too stressed and is making my depression worse. And another problem is that I don't have a passion for architecture anymore and when I decided to change my major after I finished the first year, I realized that it is not allowed to change majors after passing the first year. Now, I have to do really much work to succeed and get a degree in something I don't like and with ADHD. I can't handle it anymore and my mental health gets worse and I hate my life and I can't even do all my assignments and progects. I made a huge mistake when I choosed my major because it wasn't suitable for me or something I would love like I thought. And now, I regret a lot and can't do anything about it. Can anyone, please, help me? 🥺

Why’s it soo hard to find useful advice like this on other ADHD related vids? 😩. I’m doing IGCSE’s this year and i’ve been recently diagnosed with ADD. I do take medication but i don’t want to depend on meds all my life. Your tip on the “imagery subtitles” is my personal fav, because it makes me more mindful and focused in a fun way. I’m yet to adapt and master it completely but i know that practice makes perfect so i’ll try my best 💯

Not too long ago, my psychiatrist confronted me with the idea that I might have ADHD. I'm seeing a psychologist to confirm the diagnosis in December this year. Until then, I'm gathering all the information on how to deal with this without medication or therapy. I've spend so much time researching productivity methods, motivation hacks, etc. resulting in little success. This video actually provided some new insights & ideas on how I can help myself - I just ordered a huge deskpad for jotting down my racing thoughts (some of which are important to do's that otherwise get lost) & am already looking for fidget toys! Thank you so much for sharing.

That’s wonderful! Everyone’s journey with ADHD starts somewhere and it sounds like you’re doing a great job. I still struggle-especially now as I learn to manage ADHD in a legal office setting for the first time. But it does get easier over time once you have support and a better understanding and what your unique brain needs 💖

grrr...my ADHD is so bad that I only lasted about 5 minutes watching this before I forgot what I was doing and moved on to cleaning the cat fountain and giving my kittens treats 😕even watching a movie that I am totally interested in must be done in short increments. Luckily, my job involves working with a lot of different things in a rapid pace.
