They're not a Christian rock band. They're Christians in a rock band, just like they're more accurately described as a rock band from Ireland first and an Irish rock band second. Christian rock is usually a banal diet version of rock music, it's the vegetarian option for people who would like to like rock but abstain for what they consider to be moral reasons, whereas rock music written by people who have faith and have read the bible has more bite.
