@@TBKHomeworld I just bought the pen glue gun and I'm probably going to return it before opening it. I have the regular Ryobi glue gun, and I bought this for smaller stuff and less space taken on a desk. But I probably will return it now.
@TBKHomeworld16 сағат бұрын
@@m3rdpwr From the way I understand and read the Home Depot return policy (I am assuming that is where you purchased it at) if you open the tool and try it but the tool does not work for you, it has a defect, or you are unsatisfied with it, then you are allowed to return it for 90 days. I've never had an issue returning a tool to Home Depot if it doesn't meet my expectations, however I do not abuse the policy as I want that policy to remain for all of us. With that return policy in-mind I would recommend you at least try it and see if it works for you. You might find the smaller form factor is just what you need and it works well. I have a friend w/this glue tool and they absolutely love it. Let me know if you decide to try it out or not as I'm curious how others feel about it. I'm going to be doing an 18v glue gun test for 3 different versions from Ryobi and I'm curious if I should include this 4v version in there as well.
@m3rdpwr14 сағат бұрын
@@TBKHomeworld The return policy is even better, if you use the home Depot credit card from what they told me. Up to a year I believe. I have the original Ryobi glue gun with just the off on switch. At the same time of buying that Penn glue gun, I also bought the new 18 volt one with the detachable base. That way you're not holding the weight of the battery. I also have I think a 35-year-old Black& Decker one that is similar. You plug it into the wall. It heats up an element and use it at will. I still have it and it works as well. I just a like getting gadgets. Haha
@TBKHomeworld11 сағат бұрын
@m3rdpwr I know that feeling, I have a serious problem with tech gadgets...It sure sounds like you have an awesome collection of hot glue guns. I do love my battery powered one but there is something awesome about having an old B&D that is still doing its job! I wonder if I will be saying the same about my Ryobi one 20 or 30 years from now.
@davedauria4782Күн бұрын
stop calling it a drill. it isn't a drill. it has 4 volts of power. you can't expect it to be a tourq monstor. in my opinion you're just using it for things it wasn't built for. you should compare it to other electric screw drivers rather than comparing it to drills. if someone brings this to a job site they're an idiot and I wouldn't let them work on anything of mine. also, as someone who works on small electronics, you dont torque the screws down with the electric screwdriver. you get them very close and then torque by hand. all the examples you show are appropriate for drills not screwdrivers. you use a screwdriver when you're putting a screw into something that is already tapped. do you ever take your manual screwdriver and start screwing a fence together? of course not because it wasn't built for that purpose and it will do a bad job.

I don't ask anyone to work on my stuff, I work on it myself. I have the skills, tools, and ability to do it all, from laying concrete to working on a multi-floor high rise and walking the steel. However, some folks aren't able to do stuff and I do agree that many folks want to pay far less than the value of the project itself. On the same note I do know that many overcharge for their work and will even mislead what needs to be done; I have seen this practice first-hand. The color of the tool doesn't matter, it is the person's ability to use it or desire to learn how to use it. I would rather teach someone who owns Hyper Tough, Ryobi, or Bauer tools to do a job than someone with yellow or red with an attitude. Hopefully you are able to find someone who is able to be trained and you can share your knowledge with them. Thanks for watching.

Thanks for your feedback. Historically my videos without the memes have a very swift drop-off on viewership, having the memes grabs the attention of certain viewers and they appreciate the content. Others do not like them but for those folks they can just press on their phone or spacebar and it will speed up the memes to 2X. I've considered doing Patreon and having the videos there with zero memes for those who prefer it that way. Everyone has their opinions on the videos, including how much they hate on me for having Ryobi, or the memes, or I'm being stupid, etc. “You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time.” ~John Lydgate

I'm not being fussy about a product, I am showing that it has a very specific problem with the shutoff. The testing, while exaggerated, is specifically designed to show that it has really great torque behind it and it is effective in doing that without showing raw numbers from test device. The items I am describe can be included for not much extra money and would make the tool much more usable. There are other brands out there doing similar for less, like Bauer. Thanks for watching.

@TBKHomeworld4 күн бұрын
You cannot change the brushes on this like most older tools made now, so once the brushes go out it you would need to buy either a replacement motor (can be found on several parts websites for Ryobi tools) or purchase a new one. The entire industry has moved away from tools where you can change the brushes and are sealed units. You can technically still disassemble /most\ motors and replace the brushes and I would still encourage anyone with enough desire/skills to give it a shot. This seems to keep up, I mean it toenails into yellow pine with little issue. What about into hardwood? On a 110° day, after hours of heavy continuous use? I'd have to see. The only reason I would switch it out is if there is a problem with your current quick change collet or if you have a different size shaft on a particular bit you are trying to use. There are standard size shafts for most bits but there are a few that are extra thin, this should allow you to change out the collet to fit those extra thin bits.
