Awesome demonstration. Im mesh curious, and will probably just bite the bullet now and try some. Was a field instructor and wildlife monitor in the Arctic of canada for a few years. Taught survival and many other courses. Did ops. Then, I got into the environmental field. I enjoy xc skiing, fat ski exploration, fat biking, hunting, etc. Live in the Yukon. I've used your sleeping bags for students. I have seen these garments on your website, and am close to adding to the cart. So many years of soggy merino baselayers or stinky synthetics. This stuff looks like a game changer, and all the reviews back it up.

I'm in SC, I bought a bag from Jerry couple weeks ago, guy cracked me up, I have a modular military bag, he said I I got his bag, I should take my military bag to five points, which is in downtown Columbia SC which he is familiar with, and give it to a homeless person 😅

I've seen knives tested to destruction but this is the first time I've seen it done to sleeping gear😅.

This is why I usually only buy military surplus, because at least i can be assured that the gear is made in the country that it represents and is of reasonable quality. Ive wasted so much money over the years learning the hard way that the price of a piece of gear isn't always representative of its quality. I recently purchased a Superlite inner and outer sleeping bag, and a Duck's Back Parka from you, and they truly exceeded my expectations. Your prices are very reasonable considering the quality. I'm fairly certain the bags and the parka will outlive me. I wish I would have tried your bags 15 years ago; it would have saved me a small fortune

Jerry, the pictures on your website just don't do your products justice. Seeing it here, even briefly as you place them on hangers, I'd love to see some product videos dedicated to showing us the features of this gear. A gear-walk-thru video of sorts.

I used to fly B-52s. I'm looking into buying fishnet long John's because I sweat too much too often in the warm climate I live in, in Southern California. I want to try wearing fishnet long John's under sweatshirts or long sleeve t-shirts damp marine layer weather and hot California weather. I also flew B-1s when I was very young. It soundds like they're trying to kill people ODing them on synthetic Petroleum base fibers. I hope your fishnet long John's are 100% cotton.

I have an antarctic wiggys bag and another brand bag that uses down as filling rated for 20 degrees. To this bag I've added 16 oz of additional down by cutting each baffle, adding the down, then patching the hole. The temperature dropped to 0 last night and I slept 3 hours in each bag to see which was better. Both were adequately warm though the wiggys bag was a little warmer. My down bag is half the size and weight. In both bags my face felt like it was freezing. If I put my face in the bag cold air would enter either bag. My down bag isn't constructed as good as it could be. So adding down won't overcome these shortcomings. I have looked at western mountaineering bags on their website and their bags are going to be in a whole other league than my down bag. I still trust my wiggys bag more than a down filled bag because I have slept in a wiggys bag night after night. Wiggys bags are very good and reliable. I wouldn't own any other synthetic bag. I've owned 3. But they are twice or three times the size compressed as a down bag. You'll likely spend more money to buy a bag that's as warm as wiggys antarctic bag.

A civilian version of this with a different color scheme and higher temp rating would be great for emergencies. I can see it being packed into a daypack for hikers that get lost or injured. It can also serve those traveling in their vehicles or airplanes through very cold climates and don't expect to be stranded. You guys have come up with an ingenious multi-use sleep shelter!

Specifically, what clothing that you show were worn in the -65 deg (F ?) Airforce test?

So how to do I stay dry from a down poor while on the move, if I have a fishnet base layer on & lamalite mid layers. what hard shell should I have? Not coated and non membrane?

How long can the bags stay compressed before damaging the down? Can they stay compressed in the vacuumed sealed pack for years?

big fan of your work, I live in Northern Canada up in Manitoba Gilliam and we see -50 Celsius for about three months of the year. My father has one of your bags and swears by them. I used it once and couldn't have been warmer. I'm looking at getting one of your bags out right now, and I'm very excited to test my own. Slept in Maine -15 ish degree weather middle of winter outside.. shit was awful but I was warm af in this sleeping bag.. def recommend!

Hello Jerry. Do you remember talking with a man from Alaska named John Runkle? I am just curious if you remember him. He is my Dad. I have one of the -40 bags and it’s served me well over the years. Lots of use out on the trap line and spring bird hunting. I am heading out tomorrow and I was getting my bag setup. It made me want to see if you had any videos on KZbin. Jerry what do you think of Western Mountaineering sleeping bags, supposed to be made only in the USA too ? I love Wiggys products personally !

I would be interested in a multicam stuff sack. I'll call to see if you can make one after I get my whole setup the way I like it and know what size I will need. If like to avoid having a big black block on the outside of my camouflage on my pack and I think that would serve me well.

great bag....may not burn...but sure will melt... had one get JUST alittle to close to the stove in afghanistan and the bags shell was ruined,,,,,,otherwise...great bags

I love your slumber bag for winter sleeping inside. I washed it recently and it only took 2 hours to completely dry while hanging in my shower. Never lost the loft as other bags have in the past. Your insulation is nearly bomb proof. I have other bags, socks, sundowners, and coats made with your insulation and won't part with any of them.

So the parka isn't for sale anymore?

Jerry - We need more vids from you. Just received my double sleeping bag system (-20 F) and the field jacket liner. Top-notch quality. Somewhat heavier than my 900 down bags :) but these are indestructible and the quality is impeccable. Wish we'd had these back in 1991 when I was with the 10th SFG(A) in SE Turkey. We froze our butts off in Batman, Turkey.
