This mod unironically pays tribute to a lot of other Natsuki mods. Like name-dropping "Behind Closed Doors," poking fun at the whole "hero" thing from the original Exit Music (Natsuki's "My Hero" poem) (Not EMR because screw that mod), the twist with Natsuki's dad as a tip to Found Love, and even kind of poking fun at Fruits of the Literature Club with that "I'm not a normal boy/girl" comment they both make. And despite me most likely not being on good terms with the creator, I do make a small reference to This Bond We Share later in this mod, since that was one of the mods that kind of inspired me to try getting back into writing after I "retired" from fanfic writing after my mother passed away. The fact he took IRL experiences he had and put them at the heart of that mod spoke to me, and essentially kind of inspired me to do the same. Such as Kotonoha being a tribute to my first love, Madeleine (or "Maddy"), who I never got to confess to, but was one of my biggest supporters and sources of inspiration. Calm, graceful, intelligent, beautiful, and passionate about her interests in things like Final Fantasy or music from Avril Lavigne and early Cascada, which was how we kind of met. This channel of mine only exists in this form because she had a dream to do LPs, but she never did. I'm even subscribed to her channel, but it never went anywhere. After she went to college, it became harder for us to keep in touch. On one of my past birthdays, she wished me a happy belated birthday, apologizing because she was "so late" and hoped I didn't hate her too much. I told her I could never be mad at her, that I understood, and to do her best with her studies since she told me how often she was stressed out. And that was the last time we ever spoke. She told me how she was seemingly making friends a lot easier, even able to talk to guys more thanks to talking to me so much and helping her become less shy. Most likely, she probably found some guy and forgot all about me. Clearly I never forgot about her if I'm still here writing some stupid paragraph about her. As such, Koto pays tribute to my aunt and Maddy, taking qualities from them both. Almost the same way Akane is meant to pay tribute to the girl after Maddy who meant a lot to me, Darlene. As some bit of useless trivia, Maddy and I used to challenge each other to putting secret Cascada references in whatever we wrote, as kind of an inside joke of sorts. I've been able to do that for most of our mods, Night Nurse being the most obvious since it's named after one of the songs. STR is no exception, but you haven't hit said reference just yet. Just because I know people are going to not know what the hell a "higurasi" is, Higurashi (aka When They Cry) is quite possibly one of the most violent gore-filled horror anime series I've ever seen in my life. I will not even go into it, but take my word for it. Meanwhile Super Henkei Hero Force is the fake anime I create for Captive Heart, making a return here and in Night Nurse Remastered. Get used to hearing it, because it will be a recurring thing amongst all the mods I write. It will return in a greater capacity in Captive Heart: Amor Prohibido. I had fun writing that "cruel master Santa Claus" line. Considering this mod came out near the end of November, I kind of timed it nicely despite this mod taking place across two weeks in June.

3:35 Well, some useless trivia for you... The girl who inspired Akane? The girl I fell for some few years ago that also inspired how I write Monika and October Horizon? She did that to me. A LOT. She'd always tell me that I could text her or reach out to her about anything. Especially after my mom died. She told me she didn't want me to feel sad and alone and to reach out to her whenever I needed someone. So I did. And she'd ignore me. I cut her out of my life and then like an idiot (and because a therapist gaslit me into thinking I was too harsh), I let her back into my life, to which she was all sorry she ignored and hurt me and that she was going to do better and-- Yeah, no, she went back to the same old song and dance. And that's what led to our falling out and the sort of spark for October Horizon and by proxy, how Team Traitor was founded October 29. Her birthday. She passed away in 2022. Although I was still upset with how she treated me in the end, I still miss the person she was when she wasn't making me feel like I was a nuisance. The one who didn't make me feel like I was an outcast or weird. The one who cared about me when a lot of our classmates couldn't give a damn. The one who helped me down a mountain after I injured my knee. The beautiful girl I always told myself was out of my league and would never know I was alive. Writing Akane in 2021 made me realize despite everything, she still meant a lot to me. As I would later learn, in the end, mental illness kind of won with her. No matter how much I tried to be there for her in the past, she typically pushed me away. The final straw was when she was posting some concerning stuff online that made me worried about her safety and well-being. I reached out to her not long after, asking her to please tell me she's all right because I was worried and scared like a damn fool. She ignored me for a few days. So I tried again. And she basically told me to go screw myself. Akane was originally meant to be a middle finger to her. But the more I worked on Akane's character, the more I realized that girl still meant a lot to me, so instead Akane was now based around the "version" of her that I fell for and not so much the one who broke my heart. Akane was finalized and her sprites finished in July 2021. Her and Akane technically co-existed for about 9 months until her passing in April 2022, but she most likely never knew about that. I don't think she was into DDLC, let alone mods, and did not seem to care much for my KZbin channel. TL;DR, I had a girl who did that to me a ton, yet I still cared about her despite how sometimes she treated me awful; She pushed me away and hurt me deeply. Yet I still cared about her enough to make a character that takes some of her best traits mixed with a few of my own. Natsuki kind of takes my hurt feelings and turns it up to 11 regarding how much it got on my nerves.

Yeah, did not realize the opening theme for Get Out would be so loud. And thank you for not ripping me apart for the spelling mistakes. To be fair, we completed this in about 10 days specifically for that plot twist mod jam, so we did kind of rush things, especially near the end. Yuri going insane kind of happened much sooner than I would've wanted since I wanted to make sure we met the deadline and neither of us knew how long it'd take to get it finished. We never thought we could finish the thing within 2 weeks. Had I spent the time writing it like our usual mods, it probably would've been a bit longer and we would've seen the other rooms in the house like Monika and Natsuki's rooms. We had those plans, but then my concern was making sure we got it out in time so some of that material stayed on the cutting room floor. We had some mixed reactions to the overall length, with some people saying they wished it was longer while a few actually said they wished it was shorter. No idea if we would touch this project again, only because the shock value is gone for anyone who's played this one, but it would allow for more time spent with the characters. And who knows, maybe Akane will actually get to talk?

We tried to use EMR phone, but we couldn't get it to work properly. Considering phone calls and text messages were going to be a big thing in October Horizon and the cancelled remake mod that will remain nameless, we had to figure out something. So we opted to do what we did in the original version of the mod that will remain nameless and just do it in bold text to signify text messages. As I told Ninja, no need to make life harder on ourselves. That's why I say that night Nurse will probably be one of the last mods where we have a ton of flashy coding tricks outside of the split screen for phone calls. Thankfully we figured out how to get that to work since our former coder didn't tell us anything. Of course, he also took all our progress on STR and Forlorn Heart with him when he left and didn't bother leaving us with anything. Hence why both of those mods were finally released this year after he set us back by about a year. We had to rebuild everything from scratch and pick up whatever pieces we could so the mods wouldn't stay dead. Combined with how before he left, that guy basically said he was tried of my boring stories and how I was holding him back as a terrible writer, I lost motivation even more than I already had. He even had the nerve to go around saying "Silver Tempest" (when it was actually Forlorn Heart) was cancelled and spoiled the plot for everyone. All while sounding like he found it to be stupid and boring. Silver Tempest being another mod featuring Akane. He made it clear that he cared so little for our mods that he didn't even pay attention to their names. Had he hijacked the PWA from me successfully, we wouldn't have stories with this kind of emotional depth. Instead, we would've had edgy stories with horror and gore that happen for no rhyme or reason, devoid of any meaning. He also seemed bothered by how most of the PWA mods do have some bit of tragic love stories woven into them. But then again, I am a master of despair. I know how to write love stories and then rip them away.

That CG was made by Moshie, and it was originally for a mod I won't name being made a terrible person I refuse to give free advertisement to. I was worried how it would look, considering the one included in Koto's F2U file folder was very tiny. We had to upscale it a ton and we were worried the quality would've taken a hit. I challenged myself to try using all of those CGs however they possibly fit in whatever mods we could. Had I not been forced to cancel one, I would've succeeded. So it would've been between STR, Forlorn Heart Chapter 1, and the cancelled mod that would've used the CG of Koto and Monika at the beach. Get used to hearing about the Night Nurse, because she is going to be a recurring character in our mods, as she was originally planned. Our former coder initially derailed those plans (like how he almost derailed the PWA), but thankfully those plans are kind of back on track. I did have to make some changes to her backstory, but she does exist in most of the PWA mods. It's the very same killer NN Kotonoha was talking about, and she does that same things as she does in her story. That flashback had to be in there, considering it shows just how different MC's life was and how he was a much kinder and caring person. He lost Kotonoha, he lost a part of himself. Losing his first love and seeing her like straight out of a Danganronpa game gave him trauma he hasn't healed from. He became sad and bitter while also blaming himself for not being there for her and essentially punishing himself and thinking he doesn't deserve happiness or redemption. Even then, that same heart is still buried deep down, but he just doesn't want to ever get hurt again, so he distances himself from everyone. He would never outright admit it, but it was that same heart that led him to act to save Natsuki's life. And for some bit of useless trivia, those words were the exact same works my father said after my mom died. Not very loving or caring, that man. So I often pay "tribute" to him through my mods. Love you too, dad. Not.

No, Natsuki did mention Kotonoha in the diary. The idea here, though, is that despite STR MC being probably the smartest MC as of now in the series, he's still kind of dense, absent-minded, and socially inept. Not only that, but considering he was skimming through the diary, had to hide from a crazy man, had to relive some trauma, then then had to get the hell out of there... You may or may not remember everything you were reading while skimming through a girl's diary (he already feels ashamed doing that) once your life is in danger. And at least it seems we got you to come around for Amy. Considering she is going to appear in our mods more (and there are two I have planned where she is the main focus), I guess you'll at least know what you'll be in for. One thing I find interesting is how 5 years ago when Meddy-sin released her, people actually seemed to love her design. Someone even said they thought she was cute. And another said he found her attractive... yeah... Fast forward to now, and things couldn't be more different. Ignoring the pointed chin, I liked her design and she fit the bill for the "demented evil girl" role I was looking to fill. To my knowledge, I don't know about many mods that used red Amy (I know some people used green Amy, but I don't like her at all). I've seen some custom dialogues use her, but not much else unless someone points it out to me. So I guess with that in mind, there's a good chance our version of red Amy might become more well-known. I don't remember how Meddy-sin characterized her, but I can tell you it was nothing like how I ended up writing her. She seemed to be something of a stereotypical nerd girl that's very shy, nervous, but very friendly yet awkward. Mine is... non-apologetic, weird, psychotic, a not-closet FREAK, has almost no filter, and with the exception of Natsuki, Akane, and MC (and possibly Monika?), she doesn't care too much about anyone.
