I love your teaching...am looking to buy a very litgh pandero..? I was thinking to transform a tambourine to a pandero. So what do you think? I know I have to put a jingle s as a cup facing each other.. Skin vs synthetic? I know synthetic is heavier than natural skin ..thanks men

Hi , i have Contemporania Pro Leve 10 inch pandeiro. I bought switchable leather and nylon heads. BUT if i put on a leather head, the round (non flat rim as you have) rim sticks like 2-3mm above the skin, because i tune skin finger-tight (low). Is that a problem? I mean it doesnt look cool, but i guess playable.. At least a have an "allround" modular pandeiro this way, isntead of 2-3 instruments. Do you think thats a way to go? Is a sticking-out ring a problem?
@scottkettner-worlddrumless82352 жыл бұрын
Hey man. My advice would be to get 2 pandeiros. 1 specifically for skin and one specifically for nylon. The rim that’s sticking up too high can ultimately dig into your skin and make it very uncomfortable to play. Also, the pandeiros are constructed different for nylon and calf skins. It’s kind of like putting electric strings on an acoustic guitar. You’ll get a sound but it won’t resonate the way you want it too. Hope this helps.

Hi, Scott, congrats for the work! That's a great goove, but I can't see the notation when the video is running. I don't know if it's happening just with my phone or others had the same problem. Could you check that, please. It'll help me a lot of with my training if I could read the notation too. Thanks.

My biggest problem isn’t that my wrist get’s sore, it’s that the drum is always sliding into the palm of my hand because of sweat or slickness on my hand. This happens especially when I’m muting. Do you have any modification ideas to fix this problem?
@LucaasRolimBR4 жыл бұрын
hi, I don't know if you have solved your problem. if not, here's a tip: you can glue some type of antiadherente material on the inside part of your pandeiro, right where you hold it. a thin layer of EVA foam, for example, will do just fine. you can also try different materials and see what fits you better. another thing some pandeiro players do is to use a piece of cloth to hold the pandeiro. I guess the logic behind it is that the cloth will absorb the sweat. this technique doesn't work for me, but you can try and see if it does for you.

@@LucaasRolimBR Cool thank you. Sergio Krakowski also has a video on throwing and catching the drum to make minor adjustments.
