@CanadianCuttingEdge
@CanadianCuttingEdge 4 күн бұрын
I don't think one is better than the other, it depends on what you want to do with the knife. The FH921 will be slightly better for light EDC tasks and the FH91 could be better for some harder use scenarios, but mostly it's just a question of preference.

After perusing through 100's of videos, I finally ordered one. And another one. And another one. Etc. I'm up to 5 knives now!! And the first one has still to come in! So many fairly cheap, good quality knives out there. I'm €250,- lighter! So far.. So it looks like I'm collecting. Never collected anything in my life. But this got me hooked right away. Thanks to you and all the other knife connoisseurs on KZbin. So thanks, I guess.. 😏👍🏻

Hi Frank. I don't think I would call myself an expert, but I do like knives and I do know a lot about them, thank you for that compliment. Yes, I still make videos, but not as many or as quickly as I used to make. Summer is a very slow time because I am a grandfather and I spend a lot of time with family during the warmer months ( plus some other issues). I used to live in the far north of Manitoba, so I know what life is like away from the cities in the southern parts of Canada where the knife hating politicians like to live.

Hello, I ordered mine in blue too, it arrives this week to my country Chile, I'm sorry I can't use your purchase links since they wouldn't arrive, I love the design of the knife Mr. Ivan I want you to know, I will do my review in Spanish as soon as my shipment arrives, I can make a simple leather sheath by friction and I will show it in my review, the one it has does not do justice to this beautiful knife ... and I agree with all aspects of the design, it can't have a guard because it hinders work in the reverse position (it happens to many knives, the flipper is annoying) I have two Brother Scandi but in D2 and I like the 14c28N Sandvick better, I will compare them ... I also don't do batoning for that I have a small Viking axe type tomahook ... cordial greetings from Chile

Good question. I think the main issue between those, regarding choice, would be if you want stainless steel or carbon steel and that would depend a fair bit on the enviornment that I would be using the knife in. So, I pretty much suggest that once you decide which type of steel you would prefer then get the one that has that type of steel.

I just picked on up, Jake. I got one with a dark burlap micarta and blackwash blade - very good looking thing. However, the detent is bad. I mean *REALLY* bad. I can barely get it past the detent at all, let alone open properly. I followed your guidance and was able to get it to point of opening sometimes. I'm going to disassemble it tonight and really work on the lockbar, because it bends way too far in. Hopefully I'll be able to transform this good-looking, but non-functional flipper into a usable knife. If not, I'm harassing Civivi for a refund. Sidenote: I already worked on the edge - reprofiling the edge a bit, and it's cutting much better.
@CanadianCuttingEdge
@CanadianCuttingEdge 12 күн бұрын
I hope you get that lockbar tuned just right. It's amazing how much just a little bit of adjustment on the lockbar can change an aweful detent into a good detent. You would probably have better luck with asking the retailer for a refund than hitting up Civivi directly, but you can give it a try.

How kuch preasaure must be used You video can be resumed to: "You can strop in any way that you want as long as you don't cut the leather, the knive may or may not get sharper, idk"

I like the look and design of this one more than I might have expected - good size and overall styling; straight lines are nice, classic blade shape, very good. It reminds me of the Sacra by Real Steel that I think you reviewed quite a while ago, but a nicer, more general use style. I quite like that Real Steel is continuing to release folded steel integral liners knives, I think I'd definitely have this one in consideration, next time I'm shopping for something new. (Didn't know that SRM was the same company as Real Steel, but it makes sense, considering how similar the styles seem to be between them.)
