This happened last year in Chase Farm Hospital with one of my relatives. The so-called Mental health nurse or mental Health care assistant went to fight with a young person who didn't want to sleep in her bedroom, because she felt that way. The patient was seated on the couch or sleeping on the couch in the living room and the nurse left the Reception where she was at night shift and started by dragging the patient, to the point she broke the handles bag of the patient where she the patient has her belongings, because she moved with her bag everywhere... people who are familiar with psychiatric hospitals know or are familiar with the kind of behaviour. The patient called me and it was 10pm, she was crying, in telling her ordeal... I called immediately the reception, the so-called nurse answered, at the same time her colleague who was a man was telling her at the background, "don't answer, don't answer..." I understood both were doing it volontarily, planned to frustrate a vulnerable person...that night. Both African, I didn't REPORT THEM. JUST SAID: "TIME AND CHANCE HAPPEN TO THEM ALL"...NO ONE KNOWS WHAT THE FUTURE HOLDS...ONE DAY IT CAN BE HER DAUGHTER...HER SON...I PUT IT IN GOD'S HAND. BECAUSE I DIDN'T WANT HER TO LOSE HER JOB...HOWEVER MY DAUGHTER IS THE PROCESS OF HEALING BY DIVINE INTERVENTION...

I did this work before I retired, it was the same for all care workers, it didn't matter if you were from abroad or the UK, this is how they work.

The person who failed to report at the appropriate time caused the chain of troubles this family is going through. The lesson learnt is that any slightest negligence from a person's is capable of causing adverse effects on others. I will not be surprised if that person didn't have a good reason for coming late. I can also sense communication gap right from the time the idea of coming to UK was born. The man did not understand why he should have come first settle down before his family is invited. Husband and wife had different advisors. Sad, though.

This is a series of unfortunate events that could have been prevented. First and foremost the parents need to understand that UK is not Nigeria and the way of doing things is quite different. Your actions and what you say is interpreted differently The elder brother who told his brother to first come to UK had wisdom, it was most likely for the husband to come work and prepare the way for his family to eventually come and to prevent the predicament they are currently in.
