Where the video first begins with view of DTLA is right where I lived from 2020-23. I liked that neighborhood, up on the hill there's much less crime & almost no crackheads. Many good times there, and you'll also see peacocks roaming around too haha. I haven't been there in a year so it was neat to see my old street again.

This was SOOOO enjoyable...THANK YOU!!! I'm caring for an elderly parent with Alzheimer's. My nerves are shot. Your videos are way more relaxing (and healthier) than Prozac. i MEAN IT. Your work really matters to people like me. I can put on my VR headset and just enjoy a beautiful drive. So please keep these videos coming!

@@FrequentDriver You have no idea how therapeutic this is. My mom can't be left alone, but this lets me take a break and go for a relaxing drive without actually having to leave the house. And I REALLY appreciate you not talking or playing music. Most of these drive videos suck because of music that isn't my taste, or drivers who never shut up, so I really appreciate how well done this is. The white noise of the car sound really soothes my nerves and unruffles my feathers, but no music means I can still hear my mom if she needs me. And this neighborhood drive thing you do is so tranquil...just lovely homes, beautiful scenery and the sound of Nature. Please do some rainy/foggy day drives too if you can!😊

Thank you! Mostly, LA downtown has fewer office workers now (this was a weekday) and not a lot of apartments or tourists.

A long down-hill drive like this is so relaxing! How much elevation did we traverse? 4,000 ft or so?

Yeah, it is about 3,000 ft elevation at the start, 7,000 ft around Big Bear Lake, and 4,000 ft at the end of the drive.

I came from Scotland ten years ago to work in Newport Beach and drove the I-5 daily. Cloudless skies every day, beaches were lovely and it was an amazing place to live but was just too expensive for me, so left after one year.

Yeah, not many downtown. I believe there were recently some plans approved to add a lot more throughout the city.

German here. I also did a trip from LA to San Diego once, but the more scenic route down the 5, via Carlsbad. Takes longer, but it‘s worth it. Still a nice video, because perfect weather and for me it had different parts of both cities to see.

18:53 I HATE this exit. Not because of the layout or anything, but due to incompetent ass LA drivers. Classic LA maneuver for this is stay in the second to left lane until the very last second, and then force your way into the right two lanes almost causing a crash
