Dealing with sciatica and was looking for comfortable ways to sleep. I am a side sleeper and sometimes a back sleeper so I designed a Lombar/side support. I took a small swimming pool noodle and cut a length long enough for the width of my back and for the width of both sides. I slid a belt through the hole in the centre and done. Easy to put on or take off and never moves out of position in either back or side sleeping. Feels great in the morning as the body doesn't sag just above the waist and provides Lombar support on my back. Now I am thinking about designing a support cushion to elevate my legs like a chiropractor would do to flatten the spine during adjustment. I'll fasten it to the mattress (probably a strap under the mattress) the right distance so when my head hits the pillow the cushion will start at the thighs/ knees. I won't win beauty contests at night for my inventions but Ill feel like a million dollars during the day. That's all I care!! Lol. Maybe mattress companies need to start designing mattresses that work for people!!!

@@tooyoung6847 I am sorry to hear about your sleeping challenges. Have you had your issues properly checked out by a chiropractor in your area?

I find sleeping on my back puts pressure on the sciatica nerve and affected muscles so the pain is worse when I get up

I am sorry to hear that. If you are a back sleeper, sometimes putting a pillow under your knees can help take the pressure off of the back. Or you can try sleeping on your side. Some proper stretches before you get out of bed can be helpful for the morning as well

I cannot give specific suggestions as I do not know you case specifically, but I often on you side with a pillow between you knees or on your back with a pillow or two under your knees, and sometimes a small one under you lower back. I would avoid stomach sleeping for most people with spondylosis
