In order to remove your gap at the trailer from the ramp, you can get a horse stall mat and cut about 14-15 inch price off of it ( because they are heavy). When you are loading and unloading lay it on the ramp right at the trailer entrance, it will reduce the gap and prevent dragging. If you have a saws all or a friend or neighbor with one. You can bevel the lower edge of the pad to make it easier to roll over it. Another reason to only have it 14-15 inches long is because you can not leave it on the ramp ( because of closing it. You can also cut it to about two or three feet long so that it doesn’t take up much room on the floor.

One moe thing, make sure the board you're using doesn't slip out from under your foot. That would not be pleasant. My boards are leftover composite decking, and my ramp is aluminum, so they stick together perty good.
@paulbrinker497311 сағат бұрын
Like mine your legs are to short to reach the ramp as you transition from the road. I put a 6 inch board about 3 feet long on each side of the ramp to give me s stable place to put my feet. After dropping the bick 3x backing out of my van, I got a winch, and now winch it in and out. Haven't dropped sence, yet. Nice trailer BTW. Ride safe, have fun.

Hello, to avoid friction. Everyone has their own idea and way of doing things. I wouldn't hook the trailer to your jeep. And I raise the drawbar higher. This way you lower the front door. She will be straighter. There will no longer be this entry angle. She will be straighter. Thank you very much for the video Have a good trip... Don't forget to put the handbrake on the trailer. ( laugh )
@Country-Marshal23 сағат бұрын
You should never load an unhooked trailer. The weight of the bike could lift the front end. It'll come down pretty hard and could fall over on you. Especially if your in the doorway. I've seen it happen. The 2 critical points of loading an unload or when one wheel is on the ramp and one one the ground or on the actual trailer. When the front is on the ramp and the rear is on the ground you seat is about 4 to 6 inches more away from the ground, and being petite you had to come off the seat to your left to reach. You did good, but that the tricky spot. Conversely, when your reat tire is on the ramp and the front is in the trailer, this is where the frame is closest to the floor. The danger is if you hit the floor too hard it can suddenly stop the bike and a tip can occur. At that point you could fall from the bike from an elevated position or those ramp cables can do some real damage to you. Please be careful loading and unloading. If you can have someone with you "just in case". At the very least they can call for more help. You got this. Enjoy the adventures. I'm rootin fer ya.
@lone-wolf-42722 сағат бұрын
@@Country-Marshal negative. how do you want to lift the front of the trailer if it is already raised??? You have to understand what I explained. trailer alone. put the handbrake on. turn the crank to raise the drawbar to the max. put the motorcycle on. with the weight of the motorcycle the drawbar will come down without problem. because the trailer has no weight on the sides or the rear. kitchen plus equipment in front. So the drawbar comes back down without any problem. And then Crystal asks for ideas for loading her motorcycle into the trailer. and you what is your idea???
@Country-Marshal21 сағат бұрын
@lone-wolf-427 Well obviously, I may have misunderstood your advise. I'll leave it at that. You load your way, I'll load mine, and hopefully Miss Crystal is successful when loading and unloading she seems more than capable to make her own choices. Enjoy your day.
@davidj46623 күн бұрын
Whenever I back down something steep, I leave the bike off and in first gear and use the clutch to adjust my descent instead of using the front brake. In case its a bit slippery or dusty the front tire may slide but the back has all the weight and you have more control.
@adventureswithcrystal3 күн бұрын
Great advice!!! I’ll try that.

How tall are you? I have a Sport Glide 21 and that Hydra Glide is tempting me! Can you share more info about the lowering kit? Thanks...
@adventureswithcrystal3 күн бұрын
I have my dealership put a 2in lowering kit on it, I love it. I'm 5'2, but I wear boots to make me a bit taller. The Hydra Glide is a beautiful bike. I'm happy that I have it.... My 2022 Heritage I only put a 1 in lowering kit and wish it had the 2 in...I love it, too... hard decision which to ride.

It was a beautiful morning except for a bit humid when I was hooking the Jeep up... I'm so glad my Hydra Glide fit into the trailer. I was worried that it might be too long. I moved the refrigerator back into its cubby and it made about 4 in of extra space to fit it in.

@@adventureswithcrystal It's just the sound they make, my Street Glide makes the same sound. You could ask the tech at the dealer if it's louder than normal, maybe start another similar bike and see.
@lauraerichsen99646 күн бұрын
Check the drive belt it may be too tight, mine had the same sound, and I made them keep it and ride it, once they heard the sound the Harley mechanic adjusted the belt looser and problem was solved. I have a 2022 Heritage, I was told by one dealer to get louder pipes it will go away, I wasn’t happy so returned to Harley dealer again until it was fixed right.

If it was the belt it wouldn't have slowed down when she pulled the clutch in. Her road speed didn't change, just her rpms.
@bobkopf2276 күн бұрын
I definitely hear that squeal , I was thinking it was coming from the transmission. I think the new mufflers sound good but personally I would want them to be a louder with a throaty sound
@adventureswithcrystal6 күн бұрын
I was going for that throaty sound! Maybe I should have gone with different pipes. My Heritage has Reinhardt...they have a more mild sound also. I can definitely roar my pipes when someone gets too close to me... just want that squeal sound gone.. Have a great day!
@9mmjames6536 күн бұрын
My 2018 street glide makes same sound
@adventureswithcrystal6 күн бұрын
Did you find out why your Street Glide makes that sound?
@davidj46626 күн бұрын
Ir it was transmission it would have continued when she pulled the clutch. It slowed so it was engine related. The high output alternators make that sound. Lots of bikes that have alternators whine like that. Older bikes or smaller bikes with stators are quieter.

A set of left side/right side true duals would look GREAT on one of these! I'd also go full out and put white hand grips and round mirrors on it... And I'd have to put a set of Moon Eyes "Saturn" discs in the front wheel. I had a '57 FLHF for years and ended up selling it back in the early 2000s. This one sure reminds me of it!

Hello crystal. Would it be possible to make a short video with your bike fixed in your trailer? To see the position of your bed next to it etc. the place it occupies. Because I have a small caravan and I was planning to buy a small van to put the bike in. and travel. But I see something different about you. a trailer fitted and possible to put the bike in it. and you pull it with your pick up. This is another solution in my eyes. Thank you so much. have a good trip and good road...

Hi… I’m going to take the toy hauler very soon but not with the bike… a trial run. Soon, I’ll be taking the motorcycle in it. Please watch for another video. Both beds fold up so the toy hauler has plenty of room for the motorcycle.

Crystal, gotta let you know: 1.) a soft word(kindness & caring) is sometimes all a person needs to help them through a difficult time. 2.) Bike looks FABULOUS!! 3.) Love the wide white wall tires & the leather tassels! Have a great day! Have you given your bike a name yet? Doug👍😎🏍️❤️

This bike looks far better in person than the pictures H-D provided. I was afraid (given the pics on H-D's website) that the seat & saddlebags looked a little "Howdy Doody-ish". You know, very 50's plasticy looking, but seeing the bike in person at Steel City Harley, they did a good job. But sorry folks, this bike isn't nearly as good looking as my 1987 1/2 FLST-Special. The Blue & Creme original Heritage Softail. Shes rare.

As a fan of the classic FL bikes, I really like the HydroGlide ICON model, but there are a few things that you can do to make it look more like the actual 1956 FL. You've already done two of them: the white wall tires and the saddlebag crash bars. Almost every photo that I've see of the 1956 FL have those. The other two big things are to replace the stock M8 Heritage 10" mini-ape handlebars with a set of beach bars, and replace the tail light with the "tombstone" style from the M8 version of the Deluxe. If you can afford them, see if you can find a set of dual fishtail exhaust pipes. While the stock '56 FL only had a single head lamp and no turn signals, I believe that both the driving lights and the turn signals were factory options in the '50s. A lot of the photos of the '56 FL I've seen also show a front fender light. Harley doesn't offer one for the M8 Heritage, but there are few front fender trim options available from H-D. I'm also a short rider (5' 6") and have the same issues with toe shifting. I've had a heel shifter on my last two bikes (standard on my old '17 Heritage, added on my current '22 Heritage). Much easier to shift with the short legs.
